If Bali is paradise on earth, here you'll find paradise within paradise. I am not being smart or anything. I am serious. Out of the 3 villas of theirs that i was lucky enough to have stayed in, i could not pick my favorite. It is impossible to chose. They are all unique. And the pools are stunning. Make sure you plan time to stay home at the villa and at the pools. I would say that is the only worry you will have on Bali. No matter where you will be going on Bali you will miss Villa Beji Indah's place :-). And it might be confusing that I picked "secluded" "central" "walkable" and "close to shops and restaurants" all at once. It is cause it is heavenly peaceful. Some restaurants and shops are in walkable distance. Ubud center is probably 15-20 min by foot (5 min by scooter). Book before it s taken is all I can recommend. Palani and Aniek and all the staff were so helpful and kind. It could not be better.

Villa Beiji Indah is a tropical oasis. The grounds are lush with tropical foliage and blooms. The rooms are Indonesian style with some western comforts built in, such as air con, and beautifully appointed, though some of them need a little TLC. The manager, Palani, went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast is delicious and you should certainly try dinner as well! Overall I would recommend a stay at VBJ to anyone looking for an authentic Balinese experience of Ubud.

Villa Beji Indah is simply a piece of heaven on Earth! Everything was excellent. From the Executive Manager Palani to Dedi and Wayan who served our breakfasts, helped us with our luggages and the room facilities, people were super kind and lovely. Even the breakfast was extra good. Thanks to Palani who upgraded us from Villa Bima to Villa Arjuna for our first night (for which I originally booked Bima), we stayed at Arjuna for 3 nights. Arjuna was amazing with our own private pool. The quality of service was excellent at all levels. :)

Our stay in Ubud was extremely beautiful and relaxing. The pool was a great relief from the heat. We enjoyed staying at Villa Injah and thought they provided excellent service. The concierge on call was a great amenity because they helped to book everything from breakfast to massages.

An amazing villa with a spacious lofted room, an outdoor bathroom and an amazing private gazebo. The staff at Beji Indah was warm and helpful -- and they will take your need to heart and remember your name! It was a quiet and relaxing hideout for us and comfortable experience. It should be noted that this suite only has shades but no windows. It gets a little moist when it rains and you will hear the frogs crocking and birds chirping in the morning -- though not a bad experience. Also beware that getting transportation will be less convenient than Ubud center, but you can order taxis around. Come live here if you enjoy the peaceful, mellow country living outside of the urban hustle.

Inseparable . The stay I had at the villa was one of my most memorable holidays . I woke up on my first morning to a raw beauty that stayed with me for the next 2 weeks . The villa and I became inseparable after the first night where I booked to stay in Ubud the whole duration of my trip . I hired a local bicycle with map in hand and discovered the paddy fields , the local temples , warungs and painters studios within easy distance of my "home" . The staff are wonderful people and the service impeccable . It's hard to describe the property ad each view is uniquely designed to blend jungle with traditional architecture . I reluctantly left to go the airport " kicking and screaming " after a magical 2 weeks rejuvenating in yoga classes , sunshine , swimming , good healthy food and of course in the company of a generous team of people who run he villa . Thank you .

Villa Beji Indah User ProfileVilla Beji Indah is a superhost.

This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.

There are 18 staff who are all from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.

Steve is a leading public health expert and activist having spent the last 30 years working with the Clinton Foundation, Family Health International and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. He has a foundation (a non- profit organization) that provides access to HIV testing and treatment for communities across Indonesia, including Bali. This is a man with a very large heart!
After graduating in the 1960s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in sprawling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river and garden pavilions.

A significant portions of the profits from Villa Beji Indah supports Yayasan Bali Peduli, an HIV NGO founded by Dr.Wignall to provide treatment for people living with the virus. Todate there are 700 people who receive regular services at the 2 clinics run by this foundation.

Our guests have often called this placed 'magical', 'peaceful' and 'amazing'. They have also told us that the pictures don't do any justice to the natural beauty of the actual site.

There are 10 unique suites (in 3 separate villas) on this beautiful property which runs along a lush river valley/ravine. We can house a maximum of 25adults.

It is therefore perfect if you are planning anything from a wedding, a special birthday party, a company retreat, a yoga retreat or family reunions.

This place is rented out as single rooms or as small villas (each of the 3 villas can accommodate about 5 - 10 people.

You can also rent the entire villa if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or retreat.

The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli Foundation (started by Steve and his colleagues) which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.

This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.

The property is currently managed by Steve's friend Yulia and staff members Aniek and Mitha. Depending on the time of your message, you will get an response from either one of us.

Well, if you want anymore information please let us know.
We hope to see you at this beautiful spot!

(Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area. Also we are in the tropics, almost in a forest next to a river - so do expect to hear the symphony of birds and frogs along with geckos and butterflies. If you are not a nature loving person, this property is probably not suitable for you. If you love nature, this is a paradise)
