The guesthouse is a clean, comfortable, well-stocked, shotgun-style home in the eclectic, funky, capricious Bywater neighborhood. Within an easy couple of blocks to many bars, restaurants and art galleries, and a quick walk or bicycle to Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter, this historic and comfortable guesthouse has 11 ft ceilings, is decorated with local artists' work and books, and is your ideal getaway for a fun time in New Orleans. (City of New Orleans rental license #18STR-12249).

The space
The guesthouse is equipped with crisp linens, a 6-pack of local beer, high-speed Wifi, and kitchen and bath essentials—everything you need for an exceptional stay. In addition to the 2 queen beds, the front room has a full size futon and there's also an aerobed and a twin folding bed if more than four guests stay.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property. There is a private back patio that will lead guests into the lush, shared backyard.

Other things to note
The front door is coded, so there's no possibility of losing the key while out on the town. You'll receive easy check-in info upon booking. If you need any help, just give a call. The guesthouse also has access to a cable streaming service.

There is a train in the area that passes a few times a day, but it doesn't bother me. Anyhow, full disclosure.

Our neighborhood is an amazing place. I love it more everyday. It is still in a rebuilding phase from Katrina (more than a decade later) It’s very friendly and has some of the best hidden gems in New Orleans. Listening to live jazz in a courtyard full of live oaks at Bacchanal, breakfast at Elizabeth's and loads of fun bars, restaurants, art galleries all located amongst historic homes along the Mississippi River. From quaint shotgun houses (like this one) and colorful Creole cottages, to Italianate mansions, American townhomes and storefront renovations, the Marigny and Bywater are shining examples of how history and renewal can successfully merge together to create a funky harmony only found in New Orleans. A commitment to preservation and diversity along with a heavy influence from the arts makes for beautiful and vibrant neighborhoods.

My travels would not have been as beautiful if not for the kindness and hospitality experienced along the way. I strive to provide that same hospitality to my guests. I love visitors and want to make your stay in NOLA an unforgettable one. I'll be available to give advice and tips on where to go and what to see, and sometimes if there's time and a desire, a little neighborhood walking tour! Over the course of the 30 countries I've backpacked through and lived in throughout Southeast Asia, South and East Africa, Europe, the Arabian Peninsula and Central America, I've always sought to find a more unique and local experience, thus airbnb today! I want to provide a fun, safe and energized environment. When I'm not writing this Airbnb profile, I am at work - on a grant to conduct the U.S.'s first climate change community-scale resettlement in Terrebonne Parish, cooking, reading, drinking beer, watering my plants, or having fun! Don't be surprised if you smell boiling seafood wafting across the fence; in fact, if you do, give a holla and join in the fun!
