1 (sometimes 2) bedrms! Short distance to SoCo/DT/Capitol/public transportation-great for walking enthusiasts!Retro/vintage duplex-homey feel-wireless internet/AC/heat/outdoor space-walk to the Whip In bar/music venue. Friendly dog too!
Retro duplex, outdoor space, very homey, very Austin. If you're looking for a new/updated space, this is not for you. The duplex is definitely clean but you will see the age. 1 private bedroom is always available, but please inquire about the entire duplex (2 bedrooms) being available as we are out of town often. The guest private room is fairly small - there is a queen bed and not much walking around space but there is room for luggage in the closet as well as hanging space in the closet. There is only 1 bathroom. There are also 2 twin size air mattresses available and a large comfortable couch.
Outdoor space, The Whip In restaurant/bar/music venue, gas station store, and 2 restaurants are walking distance. South Congress street is a good walk uphill, but easiest is to bike or drive. Buses and bike share on South Congress. Uber/cabs/Lyft all available.
Interaction with guests
Please inquire if we will be home during the time you are traveling to Austin. We also have a medium/large dog that is very friendly, but if you have an issue with this, we can possibly make other arrangements. The queen bed is in the guest bedroom and always available, but if we're out of town, the king bed in the master bedroom will also be available. When we're out of town, the duplex can fit 1-4 people in beds, and 2 more guests on the inflatable mattresses and 1 on the couch. If we are home during your stay, we try to stay out of your way and keep things quiet for you.
Other things to note
Please take note that we have a medium/large dog that is not crated. He is very friendly, but if you have allergies or issues, please let us know so we can possibly make arrangements. If we are out of town during your stay, the dog will also not be there.
We expect no parties or a lot of noise. Please be respectful of our neighbors. We ask that you turn the A/C up or turn the heat down whenever you leave the house. Also, leave all lights turned off when you leave.
I tried to skip this field as I don't like to write about myself, but it's I am Peruvian, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to Houston, Texas with my family when I was four. I went to college in Austin, Texas and have since spent 3 years in Manhattan and almost 2 years back in Austin. I love to run, cycle, cook, watch movies, and travel. Some foreign places I've traveled to are Peru, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. I hope to get more on this list!
