Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Fully self contained 2 bdrm cottage on 125 acre lifestyle farm. (Tariff is for 2 people).
We have a small herd of Scottish Highland cattle, with the bulk of the land in native bush, with bush walks.
Less than 1 km from the Pou Herenga Tai cycle way, and about 30 mins drive from both Kaikohe & Kerikeri.
With a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath (great for kids), dining room/lounge - it is comfortable, warm and homely.
We lived here till we built our new house (see photos).

The space
Get away from technology and traffic! We offer peace & tranquility in a rural bush setting.
We run a small highland cattle farm. Guests are welcome to interact with us and our animals. You are welcome to help us with whatever tasks we may be doing.
We have a native bush block where guests are invited to wander along the marked tracks.

Guest access
Guests will have full use of the cottage and are free to roam the bulk of our farm. We just request that you leave gates as you find them.
Please note: Our bull is in the same paddock as the girls. While he is a real gentle giant, he is still a bull. Please do not go into the paddock the cattle are in unless one of us is with you.
We also have electric fences. Assume they are on and use the gates!

Other things to note
Our property is approx. 30 mins drive from both Kaikohe & Kerikeri, 10 mins from the Hokianga settlement of Horeke, and 10 mins from Okaihau.
We are only 1 km from the Twin-Coast Cycle-trail.

Location

Horeke, Northland, New Zealand

We live in a rural area, surrounded by native trees. It is peaceful and quiet - well away from the bright town/city lights! To sit outside on a clear night and see the amazing starry sky is wonderful. You can hear birds all day long - and morepork will hoot into the night.

We are a couple in our 50s & 60s. We have recently finished building our new poured-earth home and are wanting to continue to utilise the little cottage we lived in previously. We run a small herd of Scottish Highland cattle, and love our lifestyle in the country - the peace and quiet with nature all around. We love to share it with others.

We are happy to show guests around our property, or introduce them to our animals. You are most welcome to help with whatever jobs we happen to be doing around the farm. Just ask.
