The Joy House is truly an escape from reality. I have been there on several occasions and the friendly, joyful and warm innkeepers never disappoint. The Joy House is a great place to stay whether you are with that special someone or with a family. It is extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is amazing and I am always trying to get new ideas from Barbara and Peter's recipes. It is conveniently located to many attractions; however, it is a great place to just stay and relax. Peter and Barbara are extremely knowledgeable and can provide recommendations based upon your likes and interests. If you are in the mood to relax - the flowers, garden, hammock and hot tub in the backyard make it peaceful to sit outside and enjoy the day or night. We LOVED our experience at the Joy House and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We have been traveling to the cape for 10 years and count our stay at the Joy House as one of the best! We were upgraded to the suite at the same cost as the smaller room we requested, the rooms were super clean and super cute! The breakfast was out of this world! The owners Barbara and Peter could not have been kinder. We will for sure stay here again!

This was our first B&B in the US and it was fantastic. Far exceeded our expectations. Clean and comfortable rooms and great cooking, especially the little cakes waiting for us when we returned each evening. Hundreds of books, videos, DVDs to fill those rainy days and evenings. Loved the little tea table. Loads of space for guests including a hot tub. Great restaurant just across the street. If you want a place to stay in Dennisport, look no further. Thank you Peter and Barbara for making us feel most welcome.

We enjoyed a lovely end of our holiday at the Joy House? The breakfast is the best we have had this trip with Springsteen in the background and the Beagles at your feet, what more could you ask! We definitely would recommend the Joy House and hope to return.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Peter & Barb. They couldn't have been kinder or more interesting. Their intention was to make my stay all it could possibly be. Breakfasts were homemade and delicious. My bedroom was especially pretty and comfy as was the connecting bathroom. I even had my own living room area downstairs. Highly recommended!!

Other things to note

We do have 3 beagles at the Joy House ages, 5-9 years of age and we do everything we can to keep them on our side of the house and separated from the guests by sliding doors. It just wouldn't be the Joy House without Luther, Rory, and Barclay.

We live in a quiet community and our rules are really designed both for the guest's safety and well-being, and the consideration of our neighbors, including a Head Start school next door to the Joy House. Our guests understand that the hot tub closes after 10PM in the summertime and they do a great job with the innkeepers' pets, following the #1 rule at the Joy House; never trust a beagle.

This was our first visit to Cape Cod, and we are so glad it included a stay at the Joy House. When we saw the name we knew it was for us. The innkeepers Peter and Barbara are sweet, friendly people who love to chat about the history of the house, the local fare, fun things to do and see. They will even share some of their story if you end up with some time to visit. We loved hearing the history of the home. We also loved the location. It was out of the way enough to feel peaceful, but easily walkable to the beach, a really nice restaurant called the Ocean House, a fantastic ice cream joint called Sunday School (or was it Sundae School)! We stayed two nights but only had the pleasure of eating one breakfast due to an early flight. The homemade French toast was very tasty. Speaking of food, there are snacks laid out and cold drinks in a fridge. They were kind enough to let us borrow a couple water bottles to fill up and take with us on our explorations. We probably needed more time to experience all the Joy House had to offer. But we enjoyed our stay in the shaker room. Glad the AC unit worked bc apparently they were in a heat wave! The house was nice. The people were friendly. And the price was right for us. If we ever find our way to the Cape again we will definitely look up the Joy House!

Peter, Barbara, and the trio of beagles were wonderful hosts. My husband and I stayed with them to celebrate our wedding anniversary (and our first visit to the Cape), and were delightfully surprised to have our room upgraded after booking at no additional cost. Our room (the Lighthouse Suite) was very spacious, with a charming sitting room, modern bathroom, and bright bedroom with skylights. Peter gave us great recommendations for restaurants nearby, and Barbara prepared fabulous breakfast each morning. The Joy house is just a little over a mile away from access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which was our main attraction, and a little over half a mile from beach access. We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again!

The Joy House is a quaint historic home centrally located on the Cape with easy access to the entire Cape. There is a nice hot tub in the back yard to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. It is centrally located on the Cape making for short rides to all of the towns on the Cape. Peter and Barbara are wonderful host with many great suggestions on things to do, places too see as well as places to eat. Barbara made delicious breakfast along with Peters baked goods and smoothies that were a wonderful start to the day. We had a great stay at the Joy House and it was our pleasure getting to meet and getting to know Peter, Barbara and their Beagles. We will always have fond memories of our stay at the Joy House and will plan to visit the next time we visit the Cape.

My husband and I had a wonderful ten-day stay at this fabulous BnB. As there were no other guests booked when we arrived, host Peter gave us a choice of accommodations, and we opted for the ground-level Lighthouse Suite. Very spacious and comfortable! Delicious breakfasts were served, and guests who are dog-lovers (as we are) also have the option of meeting the host family's friendly Beagles (who remain on the host's side of the premises). Peter also provided us with useful tourist information, which helped us make the best use of our time on Cape Cod. Our strategic mid-Cape location proved to be ideal for making side-trips to Provincetown, Chatham, Hyannis, and Newport --- plus two trips to the Boston area. Overall, we were very pleased with all aspects of our stay here, and Peter and his wife are charming hosts. We enthusiastically recommend the Joy House BnB to anyone visiting Cape Cod!

Peter and Barbara along with their trio of beagles (affectionately described as their Guest Services Director) were thoughtful hosts and brightened our short stay at the Cape. A terrific, affordable option for out of towners. Peter was kind enough to share the history of the BnB home (once a sea captain's home) with us and later thoughtfully provided lactose free milk to my lactose intolerant partner should he want to have it with his breakfast. In particular, Peter is quite knowledgable about the area and was able to help my partner and I strategize when it would be best to travel to Nantucket via ferry. Absolutely would recommend his insight into dining and day planning. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how touched my partner and I were discovering, after a long day of traveling, that Peter and Barbara (plus their Guest Services Beagle staff) left a note on our door offering breakfast times options. We opted for the Continental breakfast at 7am and our hosts were up bright and early with freshly made croissants and lively conversation.

Peter and Barbara were gracious and helpful hosts. They assisted us with directions, sightseeing and dining recommendations. We felt welcome in their historic home. They were knowledgeable about the area's history which added to the experience. They were accommodating for an early breakfast request. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of variety and freshly prepared items. The room was clean and spacious. This was a good location for exploring Cape Cod.

The story of our Innkeepers, Peter and Barbara Bach, begins in the not so distant past. Peter and Barbara have been visiting the Cape for nearly 15 years and have always dreamed of making their home there. Now that their two daughters have left the nest, Peter and Barbara decided to test their own wings on the adventure of a lifetime: Innkeeping. And we continue into our 15th year of this journey on our beautiful Cape Cod.
