The space

This beautiful log home is a short distance from the entertaining Big Bear Village where you will find restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. If it is summertime, take a walk or a short drive down to the lake and enjoy fishing, hiking, swimming, and water sports.

There is plenty to do in Big Bear Lake, however your vacation will be enriched by the charm of this full log cabin. There was a lot of time and effort spent on furnishing this cabin with 5 star mountain décor. The master bedroom has a rustic full log Cal King bed with a crystal clear LCD television. If you enjoy playing pool, there is a full sized pool table on the loft with an LCD television on the wall, and brilliant mountain views out the loft window. Downstairs you will find a large cozy river rock fireplace for you to enjoy after a night in the Jacuzzi. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen and the other with bunk beds (twin over full).

No batteries in any tv remotes. Smoke detector chirping from low battery. BBQ had no grill. Furniture was old and broken. Pull out beds did not work. Pool sticks were all broken. Late key pickup fee which is against airbnb policy. Made us take out our trash and said they'd charge us $25 per bag of trash again against airbnb policy. Would not recommend. Will not use 5 star vacation rentals again.

This is a great cabin for the entire family and pets! The backyard has just enough of a slope that you can sled. I even taught my son how to ski in the backyard. It was perfect. The heat and appliances worked perfect. It is walking distance to Snow Summit so there is no need to deal with long lines to find parking. Great cabin with easy in and out access.

Awful. Just terrible. From retrieving the keys to the awful towels and sheets that are company owned. I feel they pretend there is a local owner "aka" Kevin but in reality you are getting a puppy mill of a rental - with no human available by phone or text if and when something goes wrong. The internet did not work for half of my stay and I was up in BB for work! The place had bare minimum cleanliness, felt dirty and is obviously a party house rental. Owners aka 5 star should have checked out my rental history and profile before offering me a dump.

the bad: It was hard to know where to get the keys. I left 2 messages on airbnb and then 2 voice messages and finally heard around 10 am from the rental agency where to get the keys at an alarm company in BB. I realized this is not someone's home but rather a rental property that is part of a bigger rental company. we had to sign a bunch of paperwork at the alarm company. I prefer using airbnb because all that paperwork is signed for when you sign up/agree. The hot tub had a lock on it so we had to call back the alarm company to get the lock combination. a little disorganized for being in charge of so many properties. the fold outs were just terrible and super springy. also, it should be noted you can only park 3 cars on the property. the good: cute exterior good neighborhood location only 3 other homes were being rented out. really close to summit (although we didn't come for that) walking distance to the village (1 mile) Thank you.
