Interaction with guests
I will be available to talk on the phone or communicate via email. If I'm away I will appoint someone whom guests can email and who can do any trouble shooting.
I will not be there for check-in or check out but will make arrangements for someone to be there for keys and house tours.
Other things to note
The bedrooms are air-conditioned.
There is a maid service three times a week.
A caretaker lives in a cottage near the property to provide support and security for guests.
I share my dogs with my neighbors to guard our house at night like every house with direct access to the beach in that area. But they are not allowed inside the house and very happy to be outdoors. (They may bark when visitors arrive, but they do not bite).
The bathrooms attached to each bedroom are enclosed but are open to the sky. If you leave the outdoor lights on, it may happen that moths are attracted to the light and land near the towel racks. On a similar note, there are small geckos that live in the roof and sometimes look for food in the high bedroom ceilings. They are harmless. But guests should know that to some extent one is living close to nature.
Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms.
Any chemical products near the green marble stone around the shower areas could ruin the marble so please kindly refrain from dying hair or using chemical products in that area.
Hi I am Supinda!
Welcome to our beach house!
I discovered this beach 30 years ago when Phuket was a gentle island as near to a paradise as anyone could have imagined.I knew right away that this is the place where I wanted to build a holiday home for my 2 children. We were all living in London at the time.I am happy to say that although Phuket has changed, up to now, once you drive past the long Rawai beach, our house and our area has managed to retain most of the original near-paradise state, not too far from the idyllic tranquility of the past (keep our fingers crossed!).
When we built this house, there was no electricity and the children had to learn to take the oil lamp out to clean before sun-set everyday. We can now enjoy the best of both worlds for a while, hoping that it will be for a long time.
I am the founder of Childline Thailand Foundation which is a freephone helpline for children in distress, so the villa also served as the get-together place for Non-Government Organizations who stormed into Phuket in the aftermath of the Tsunami in 2004 when total strangers from all over the world were thrown together to help people in any way they could.
The wave did not come up to our house and nothing happened to our place. We only learned later that there is a big drop of 28 meters deep in the sea in front of our house where the water receded below. The next day my daughter and I just went out to help every one who needed help and we spent many months working with NGO's from all over the world, many of them who have become life-long friends.
My daughter lives in London with her wonderful husband and 2 lovely children. They visit me in Thailand about twice a year.
My son is a Forest Monk at Wat Pa Na Na Chat who spends his time in the forest and in Ubon. He kindly and patiently guided me towards meditation and it is now time for me to take it to another level.
I have spent many peaceful days in meditation in this house and now aspire to further my meditation in Burma at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Center in Mawlumyine, where people come from many countries in the world to receive formal instruction in meditation.
I hope that our villa will be able to welcome you and provide you with wonderful holidays like it did for us.
