House rules
This place isn’t suitable for children under 12 and the host doesn’t allow pets, parties, or smoking.
Welcome to our minimalist tiny house 30 minutes (17.6 miles) from the South entrance of Yosemite! Our tiny house is parked next to our small home where my husband and I live in our beautiful town, Oakhurst, with our two rescue llamas.

When you stay with us, you'll have the whole tiny house to yourself which features a "real" bathroom (hot shower, flushing toilet, and sink) as well as a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed all in a cozy farmhouse style.

The space
Description: We love the snuggly, handmade quality our tiny house has. it's only stocked with the basics; our hope is that you're able to embrace the simplicity of Oakhurst and small town living while you stay. This place is meant to be enjoyed as a quiet retreat spot while you maybe explore Yosemite and Bass Lake. It's not designed to be a party house, so please respect our quiet, peaceful town.

Fun to know: 15% of the proceeds from this listing will support three charities. They are: Thistle Farms, Equal Justice Initiative, and Charity Waters.

Guest access
Feel free to enjoy the views from your own little mini deck. We do ask that you would not approach the llamas or wander around the property on the main house side unless we're with you. This will keep our sweet girls (the llamas) happy. They would, however, LOVE to meet you--just with us along.

COVID 19 Update: As part of California's phase 2 reopening we are hosting again in small doses. That said, we are unable to do llama feedings during this time because of social distancing. Know that through the end of July, we spacing out bookings so that the house can sit empty for 24-48 hours. We're doing our best. :)

Other things to note
We are on a main road and so you will be able to hear cars or neighborhood sounds during busy times. Also, we live in the mountains; it is likely that you will see some bugs.
Finally, our tiny house was built by an organization that helps to rehabilitate individuals recovering from homelessness and drug and alcohol by giving them building skills and jobs.

Because of this, the house does have a few quirks:
1) There isn't a venting fan in the bathroom so for now, we ask that after you shower you pop open the bathroom door for some ventilation. But if you forget, it's okay. :)
2) The windows in the bedroom and the bathroom are the only ones with screens
3) There are very few curtains so that you can enjoy the views!
4) The lights and outlets in the bedroom turn on and off together
5) Our driveway is steep, so please be prepared for that. You shouldn't need four wheel drive or anything, but you are visiting a mountain home. :)
6) The bathroom isn't visible from the bedroom or living room but has no door.
7) As mentioned, you will be on a main road so sometimes you can hear some cars.
8) It's handmade so it's a rougher finish all round than you would expect on a more professional build
