Unique and cozy comfort, this is a tiny home with charm - a queen sized bed by the emergency exit, overlooking a pond. It is a great retreat, with kitchenette, outdoor propane shower and private outhouse. It has been used as a writer's retreat several times, and a romantic getaway, all with rave reviews. Magnetic poetry is invited.
Outdoor table and chairs, and chaise for relaxing.
We lived in our bus on Duck Creek Farm for five great years, it holds many sweet memories.

The space

We are a beautiful 13 acre organic farm in the heart of Salt Spring Island. The farmstay bus is central, and private. It's comfortable for two, but families of three have made it work and loved it. Well lived in, it fits like a comfortable shoe.

It can take awhile to return your reservation request due to farming. Call if you need a faster answer.

Guest access

Swimming pond, nature walks, active birdlife (red winged blackbird, ducks, heron, owl, eagle +), fresh produce available for purchase.

Interaction with guests

We are friendly, and leave people to themselves if retreat is their preference. We are happy to have guests wander the farm and explore.

Other things to note

Enjoy a walkabout, but please stay out of the greenhouses and plots.

Sue and her bus are out of this world. This venue captures the true heart of air bnb, in my opinion. Providing a real experience, a window into another way of living and all while being comfortable and cost effective. We have a great time. The bus was everything we could've dreamed and more. We wanted the stars away from city lights, enjoyed the many beaches near to Sue's property and had fantastic sleeps in the quiet, comfy bus. I would book again in a second. I wish there were more BnB's like this one!

It was a wonderful adventure form my wife and 2 1/2 year old daughter. It was thd most interesting place I have ever stayed in. It had character in spades! I would highly recommend staying here for the most unique experience on Salt Spring Island.

We had an amazing stay in this bus! Meeting Sue at the Tuesday farmers market in town was a great way start to the day. The farm was a beautiful and peaceful place to relax, we even were lucky enough to watch a family of otters play in the pond right outside the door. The bus had everything we needed and was extremely easy to get to. Thank you Sue for sharing Duck Creek's magic with us. We look forward to the next visit!

Loved this place! Beautiful location, the bus is very private, quirky, rustic and thoughtfully appointed with a great selection of records and books to while away the time. The bed was comfortable it was so nice to lie there and gaze out at the stars. We didn't have a car but this was not a problem as the bus passes close by (a couple times a day) or else hitching was easy enough and seems pretty commonplace here. There is amazing swimming on the lake 10 mins down the road but mainly we just enjoyed hanging out at the property it was so nice. Sue and her family were very hospitable and had some great suggestions for local treats and delicacies! Would love to return one day. Thanks Sue!

The bus was magical..loved the record player, magnetic poetry, playing chess, and the peacefulness of the farm. Was a very memorable trip to the island because of our stay here! Would definitely recommend :)

I am an organic farmer, working with my son full time and my daughter when she can. We love our little bit of paradise and the opportunity we have to share it with others. I sleep outside from May-October to really appreciate the abundant natural world. We are constantly learning and evolving with our landscape, and have a simple life.
