Private entrance to a first floor apartment. Queen bed in a separate bedroom and a queen fold-out sofa in the living room. There is also an Ikea bed frame with an air mattress which can be set up in the living room. Full bath. Kitchen privileges in host's part of house. Spacious living/dining area. It even has a grand piano.
The house was originally built in 1804, rebuilt in 1854, and constantly under renovation from 1966 (when I acquired it) until the present day. It was a one-room schoolhouse for over a hundred years. It sits on the corner of Bennett Street and another dead end road which goes into Whiteface Intervale, which was once described by Robert Frost as the most beautiful spot in New Hampshire.
The apartment does not have a kitchen of its own, but guests have privileges to the host's kitchen, which adjoins the quest quarters.
Interaction with guests
I have lived off and on in the area for many years and will be able to direct guests to quite a few spots off the main tourist track. For guests staying only a day or two, I am happy to make breakfast from my own stores. Longer term guests must fend for themselves (I will provide shelf and frig space).
Meal making staples provided. Kitchen has 2 of almost everything needed to prepare meals. Guests are expected to treat their area as they would at home.
