Private entrance to a first floor apartment. Queen bed in a separate bedroom and a queen fold-out sofa in the living room. There is also an Ikea bed frame with an air mattress which can be set up in the living room. Full bath. Kitchen privileges in host's part of house. Spacious living/dining area. It even has a grand piano.

The space

The house was originally built in 1804, rebuilt in 1854, and constantly under renovation from 1966 (when I acquired it) until the present day. It was a one-room schoolhouse for over a hundred years. It sits on the corner of Bennett Street and another dead end road which goes into Whiteface Intervale, which was once described by Robert Frost as the most beautiful spot in New Hampshire.

Guest access

The apartment does not have a kitchen of its own, but guests have privileges to the host's kitchen, which adjoins the quest quarters.

Interaction with guests

I have lived off and on in the area for many years and will be able to direct guests to quite a few spots off the main tourist track. For guests staying only a day or two, I am happy to make breakfast from my own stores. Longer term guests must fend for themselves (I will provide shelf and frig space).

Warren is one of the most welcoming Airbnb hosts that I've met. He was there to greet me when I arrived and gave helpful suggestions of places to visit in the area. He made a delicious omelette and sausage for me the first morning and we had an interesting conversation over dinner at a local restaurant that evening. Warren's place is unique for its history and has many interesting artifacts throughout. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated having use of a private bathroom and the kitchen area in Warren's home. Although the area is secluded, the internet connection was strong and I was able to catch up on some shows on Netflix. The area is very peaceful and beautiful. Be certain to go to Squam Lake, where "On Golden Pond" was filmed. The opening scene for "Newhart" (actually outtakes for "On Golden Pond") was filmed in the area and you may see the corner in Center Sandwich where Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda's car turns. Village Green Cafe and Market is a good place to get a sandwich and ice cream. There is a local Shakespeare company and although I did not get to see a performance I had the pleasure of going to their annual rummage sale fundraiser. There is a craft guild with local artists' work in town, too. Warren gave me a great suggestion for the route home with the best mountain range views. Thank you, Warren! I appreciate your hospitality.

We went to Mt Washington which is about an hour and 20 min from Warrens place. But didn't feel the distance at all because on the way there are white mountain ranges, lakes and the town of Conway full of restaurants, shopping, mini golf ziplining and other attractions. Yet Warran's place is secluded enough for relaxation. Right behind the house there is a beautiful mountain view and hiking trail. Beautiful place for a peaceful walk and biking. Warran's is very friendly and gracious host, doesn't hesitate to answer any questions about the area and activities. The house is an old cozy place with a history of its own, the bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is shares but feels private because there is a designated space for the guests, including a small refrigerator space. Overall all a great value. Our stay was very pleasant.

Warren's place is a gem located near some great local finds and Mt. Whiteface! We really enjoyed our stay and Warren goes above and beyond to make his guests comfortable which we really appreciated. If we're ever back in the area we would definitely stay there again!!

We just saw Warren the first night, when he helped us to pick among the various attractions in the White Mountains. He was quiet and respectful, and we loved his dog!

Warren's property is tucked away deep in Northern Sandwich, and the drive there was absolutely beautiful. He had a small sign out for us and greeted my family with a big smile making us feel very welcome right from the start. The apartment had everything we needed just as listed, and tons of interesting little knick-knacks and furniture. The shared kitchen works out very well. There is plenty of counter space and everything you need is there. The apartment has its own table and chairs for dining but it was really nice having some time to hang with Warren in the kitchen. If we return to the area we'll be checking here for availability. :)

My wife, dad, and I stayed with Warren for two nights. It was great for our situation; the listing comes with a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. All of it is private except for the kitchen, which is part of a larger shared space. My wife and I slept on a queen bed in the master bedroom. My dad slept on a single air mattress in screened off section of the living room. The location was convenient for getting to the White Mountains. Warren had a lot of funky and interesting furniture pieces and decorations in his house. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to be able to cook ourselves a healthy meal while on the road. Warren was an excellent host. He gave us lots of helpful tips, was interesting to talk to on all kinds of topics, and made us a delicious omelet before we checked out.

I take pride in calling myself a flaming liberal, though I am not not particularly incendiary about my political views. Nor do I particularly trumpet my secular humanism. I have had 2 major occupations (Tennis, Theater) and several minor ones (pizza delivery, banquet waiter, etc…
