This home was built by my family in 1916 when they moved to Texas from Alabama to claim land granted to them for fighting in the Battle of San Jacinto. Martha Cunningham didn't want to move to Texas unless she could have a home built like her Aunt Idora's plantation home. The home has been restored with much of the original furniture and hard wood floors. It also has a wonderful private pool!

The space
There are two sun porches with windows all around the entire room in the home, one upstairs and one on the first floor. We have made the upstairs a sleeping porch and the downstairs is wonderful for visiting or morning coffee. The fence in the backyard is not completely closed off.

Guest access
Guests will have private entrance and have access to the entire house. It is not rented by room but altogether.

Other things to note
The back door has a code that I will text to guest prior to arrival. The wifi password is on the welcome sheet on the kitchen counter. Extra toilet paper and toiletries are in the laundry room. There are white towels hanging in both bathrooms and extra towels in the upstairs bathroom cabinet. There is a propane grill in the pool house for your use and we provide the propane. If you run out please let us know. There are two bathrooms in the house, upstairs with a bathroom and downstairs with a shower. The third bathroom is in the pool house with a shower.

This historic home is located in the center of town with several homes that are over 100 years old. It is walking distance from the school, from town, two parks, and to most of the churches in San Saba. It is a quite neighborhood with wonderful neighbors! The home is close a great winery, an olive oil company, a beautiful golf course, 4 parks and numerous pecan companies.

I am a CPA, a small business owner, a real estate agent and my husband and I farm and ranch. I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren that are the joy of my life. I love people and our community. I cannot live without Jesus, my husband, my family, my church and traveling. We love to travel to Italy, Colorado, and Scotland because my husband is an avid golfer. I love to live life to the fullest and meet new people!

During your stay
I live a block east of the property. I will be glad to meet guests upon arrival and show them around the house. Some want to hear some of the history. I am available during your stay to help with directions, suggestions for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. I give the guests space, but be glad to help when needed.
