Walk on quiet streets, shop, visit museums, enjoy theaters, movies and concerts, try tapas, restaurants and drinks in old town Vegueta. And a 1/10 m walk + a 15/45 m ride will take you to Las Canteras/Maspalomas beaches

The space

The apartment is in Las Palmas most beautiful square located between Triana bustling Main Street and quiet Vegueta old quarter. You would enjoy the views to the square from the cozy balcony while having breakfast, a coffee or a drink after you come home from a day on the beach, a shopping morning in Triana or a walk and museums tour in Vegueta.

In addition to your private room, and bathroom, the full equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, the living room, and the square looking terrace are available for you to use.

From february to july I live in Madrid. When I am here, and since you would have your own separate door to enter the apartment and I leave home early in the morning, we may or may not meet along the day. But, if we do I will be glad to answer any questions or have a little chat if you wish.

We can arrange to pick you up and drive you back to the airport depending on your arrival/departure times. If not, Global bus (2€ ticket) will take you to San Telmo bus station, at a 10 min walk from home.
Once in Las Palmas, we are at walking distance from almost everywhere and everything but the beach. However a bus you can take at the downstairs stop will drive you to Las Canteras in just 15 min.

Guest access

In addition to your private room, and bathroom, the full equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, the living room, and the square looking terrace are available for you to use.

I had a wonderful week in Las Palmas staying in Nanda's apartment. I was in the blue room, a lovely spacious quiet room with ensuite shower room. I was also able to use the kitchen to make breakfast and Nanda had everything in for the basics - bread, coffee, fresh oranges to squeeze for juice. Nanda was a good host, gave advice and suggestions when needed but wasn't 'in your face'. The apartment is in the Triana district which I loved; quiet, residential but close to bars, restaurants and shops. I hired a car to be able to travel around the island and there was parking in the large Primer de Mayo car park, €6 per day and 5 minutes away. Although the apartment is in the city, it is easy to get in and out by car so travelling around was no problem. I believe the bus service is also good though I mainly walked in town. I would definitely recommend Nanda's place to stay.

Nanda's apartment is situated in the old town of Las Palmas, a stone throw from great restaurants, cafés, sights and shops. It's the perfect location for everyone who is looking for more than just a beach vacation! There is so much to do in Las Palmas, we only made it to the beach three times during our 9 days stay. The room is spacious and has an en-suite bathroom. Everything was very clean. Nanda provides her guests with breakfast which contains a selection of fruits, bread / toast, butter and marmalade as well as coffee and tea. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony as it provides a fantastic view over the old town. Nanda is an intelligent, warm-hearted and welcoming woman. She really made us feel at home, was happy to give restaurant recommendations as well as advice what bus routes to use and even picked us up at the airport when we arrived! I can strongly recommend staying with her!

Nanda was kind enough to pick us up from the airport. She kept a low profile during our stay. The en-suite guest rooms are spacious and comfortable. We decided not to hire a car after seeing how easy it was to get around on public transport. The apartment is in a great location on the edge of the main Tirana shopping street and across the road from the historic Vegueta area. It was a bonus to find that the area was mostly pedestrianised with lots of cafes and restaurants. The walk around the Bandama caldera was a highlight and the tour of the rum factory in Arugas was a good 'rainy day' activity. Calle Mendizabal in Vegueta has lots of nice bars and restaurants as well as the food market.

Nanda has been a great host during our stay, and I should say, she's also one of the most sympathetic one we've come across so far. We felt very much home. The apartment is located centrally with some spectacular view. The apartment is well designed - good old architecture with modern twists to it. If you're visiting Gran Canaria, I would only recommend to stay at Nanda's.

I can't tell you how well placed Nanda's home is. If you prefer old city to new Las Palmas, then you will love living in Vegueta. It's so vibrant and comes alive at night time. So many great restaurants, museums and lovely architecture. Nanda and her husband are lovely hosts and let you be. The room is fully equipped with everything you need and breakfast is available too! The only bad side of staying here was the building is being renovated so lots of loud banging at 8am. However it shouldn't go on for much longer. Thank you Nanda for a great home to live in
