This RV Site is good for motor homes or trailers <25 ft long. Longer trailers can still fit but the turn around is not big enough and you would need to back down the driveway again to get out. It has WIFI, power and water but no septic. Shared amenities include a rain sheltered kitchen sink and dining area, a flush toilet and a free hot outdoor shower. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a 35 minute drive away.

The space
Its beautiful land with big trees, excellent water and very few mosquitoes. There are bats living in bat houses on the property. Its an off-highway, semi-dead-end, so its usually quite quiet except for squirrels. Wild turkeys and deer wander through the property almost daily. There is a dog in a separate fenced area. Firepits are availalbe for use when there is no fire ban.

Guest access
Guests may use the shared campground property including firepits, picnic tables and hammocks. The listing does not include access to the house and fenced areas.

Other things to note
There is no cell phone coverage here until you get to Crescent Valley (south) or Silverton (north). There may be other campers on the property. With this listing we do not provide beds, tents, sleeping bags or heat other than hot water. Smoking is allowed outside only. There are many guides available for activities in the area including water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours, native history and lots more. There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby aboriginal village site with a full scale replica of a kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy.

Location

Slocan Park, British Columbia, Canada

This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor and hippy - draft dodger. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Hippy Hole.

I believe that friends, time and freedom are the keys to happiness. Inviting my friends to live with me inspires me. I am developing a campground with gardens and gathering places for workshops and concerts. It is my intention to share this land with others while preserving its beauty, as best I can. I love to go dancing in Nelson, play music, bike riding, dog walking, and relaxing in a hammock or by the fire. Being outside in the Kootenays is therapy for me. I love to float on the river, swim, hike, grow stuff, stargaze and sleep. I am into deep relaxation, biosphere preservation, healing and conflict resolution. I enjoy kids, trading skills, building things, massage, drumming and potluck parties. I just want to celebrate this rare earth.
