Access to our farm for walking, cycling and trout fishing. We can offer some of the most stunning views the Catlins has to offer right at the top of our farming property.

5.5 km from Owaka and central to many of the magnificent attractions within the Catlins Area. (Purakaunui Falls is a 5 minute drive)

The space
Carey and I have been farming in the Catlins for just over 26 years now. We have gradually built our farming operation from 320 acres to 2,000 acres over this period.

About 10 years ago we purchased some land which connected beautifully with our main farm boundary. This part of the farm captured beautiful views of the Catlins Lake and has some amazing history associated with it in regard to an old railway station which used to operate on the flat paddocks directly in front of the homestead. We have taken this opportunity to provide the house as accommodation and to name it "Catlins River Station after the old railway.

Since taking this house over we have opened up the lounge and kitchen/dining area so that it offers a more spacious area for guests to relax.

The alterations continued with the addition of a fantastic deck. One end is covered so that guests can utilise it in all weather situations.

Guest access
We encourage guests to utilise the tracks we offer on our property if they wish to go walking, running or biking. We will issue a farm map if requested to point out these areas.

The Catlins River runs through the back of our property and is well known for trout fishing. Bring your fishing rod and try your luck. (Please Note the Trout season runs from the 1st October - 30th April)

Cell Phone reception has always been very minimal at the house so we have installed Wifi to give guests piece of mind
