This charming apartment in a Swiss chalet is located in a very scenic and peaceful area just 2 minutes walk from the village. The Bains de Val d'Illiez spa complex is a 20 minutes walk, and the ski area is a short four kilometers away.

The space

Treat yourself to a comfortable stay in a charming chalet in the beautiful Swiss alps. Chalet Tir a Nog is in an ideal location as the village square is a two minute walk away, yet it is surrounded by beautiful scenery with a great view of the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanche. You will awaken every morning to the singing of birds or the sound of cow bells in the distance.
The chalet is located in the Portes du Soliel area, a major ski destination in the Swiss and French alps, encompassing thirteen resorts, more than 650 km of marked pistes and over 200 lifts spread over 14 valleys. Portes du Soleil ranks among the largest ski areas in the world.

Just a walk down the road is the Bains de Val d'Illiez spa and thermal complex which includes a thermal river with the warm natural springs coming directly from the source, an inside and outside pool, an outside jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam, a tylarium sauna and massage facilities.

Summer activities include visiting the goat farm and alpine museum in Champousin, tandem paragliding over the alps, hiking, horseback riding, cycling and mountain biking. The two-day climb up the Dents du Midi is not too difficult and gives a spectacular view of the Alps.

We had a great week in Val d'Illiez. The apartment is attractively furnished and decorated with a lot of family/personal items which helped make it feel friendly and warm. The spectacular views and sunny balcony made breakfast/lunches special, while the efficient log burner kept us warm on the one occasion that we felt inclined to use it (the rest of the week was very warm!). We were particularly grateful to Olga for letting us change our booking due to an injury to one of our party. Our planned ski trip in March became a walking week in April. The chalet certainly suited a walking holiday but we feel that it would also work well as a base to explore the ski slopes of Champery, Morgins and the rest of the Portes de Soleil region. Best wishes.

Lovely cozy apartment with magnificent mountain views! Situated in a great and scenic area with many touristic opportunities at your doorstep. Although we didn't have the chance to meet Olga in person, all the communication was efficient and super friendly. We highly recommend this lovely place!

Our stay was delightful. We felt to be the valued guests of a charming family who had the trust and confidence in us to put their home in our hands for a few days even though we never had the chance to meet them personally – something that we hope time will correct. They were ever so gracious in our email exchanges before, during and after our stay. We greatly valued the tranquility of their chalet and the cordiality of their character.

Response from Olga:
Hi G, Thanks for your lovely review ! Sorry about not dusting the art work of our little visitors.I guess that the little critters were even busier than ever after we left and Manuela's last minute clean-up missed their high ceiling creations, since that was usually my responsibility. Hope that you will revisit one day ...and I will make sure they are evacuated.
