Lovely 1880 Victorian in a neighborhood of amazing old houses. Quiet and spacious, this is the upstairs of my home. Separate and private entrance (heck, it's even a different address). MCLA, MASS MoCA and Main Street are all within walking distance. Williams College, The Clark, WICMA, Natural Bridge, WTFestival, Windsor Lake, hiking, biking -- all are an easy 5 to 15 minutes drive.
Recently restored, this is a sun-filled upper apt in an 1880 Victorian. Wake up to mountain views from the kitchen, bedrooms and porch. The bathroom is newly renovated. The kitchen is fully stocked and has all new appliances (we kept the old porcelain double sink...)
There are 3 bedrooms: A queen bedroom; a king bedroom (with a daybed that could sleep another person); and a twin bedroom. There is a roomy living room, eat-in kitchen and a porch. The apt has a separate entrance from the main house and is the entire upstairs.
Please Note: If needed, this listing can accommodate another couple in a full-sized bedroom. It would be on the same floor as your apt and it is bright and sunny and sweet. It is off the back staircase. Additional charge: $20/person/night.
Guests have access to the complete upstairs apt with separate entrance. There is wifi and a fully stocked kitchen.
Interaction with guests
I love meeting anyone who travels through North Adams and stays at the house. I am often downstairs (in my apt, separate from yours) or gardening. I also could be hiking or biking but I'm always available by phone / text / email.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
Sometimes GPS just doesn't work like good old fashioned directions. So, to get to the house from Main Street:
Go to the end of Main Street in town where the statue of the soldier is.
Make a right onto Church Street.
Go down Church Street.
The 3rd Street on your left is Windom Terrace, but the street sign is gone.
Not to worry, go to the next street, Elmwood, and make a left.
Go to the end of the block and make a left at the "T".
A big green house is on your left. Cars park in front.
Then there is a long driveway (that's mine).
And then a tan, big Victorian. That's the house!
Feel free to park in the driveway but stay towards the top because you'll be closer to your entrance (a reddish door) which is: 25 Dover Street.
This is a great old Victorian with wonderful charm and energy. We love it and hope you will, too.
The house is non-smoking. Pets are considered but must be discussed first.

I am an artist. I love mountain views, old factory towns, and cool architecture. When I first visited North Adams, I was amazed by all of the huge old houses, one after the other and then more; I actually still can't believe I own one. Our house was built in 1880 and from what we can tell (house forensics under the wallpaper we stripped : ) it was converted into a two-family back in 1938.
My partner and I love to hike, snow shoe, ski and entertain family and friends.
We also (road) bike. There is great biking up here and we know the routes. From short to long rides; flat to mountainous. We know them because we've ridden them and we can print out the routes for you.
We love art and frequent Mass MoCA, The Clark and local galleries and studios. Frog Lotus Yoga is a 5 minute drive and has an incredibly beautiful space to practice. There are parks and hairpin turns, lakes, streams and hikes. And then food, there's some great food to be eaten...
