This was our second time visiting Penny’s place with our large group. Just like a year ago, she and Nelly were very welcoming and made our stay perfect! We look forward to returning again next summer!

This is a very nice home that is great for large groups. The area is beautiful and the house is very quaint and comfortable. The home was fairly clean despite a particularly messy group having just checked out a couple hours prior to our arrival and you can tell that Penny is con…

Brian, Typically, I welcome constructive criticism, as it gives me an opportunity as a host to make improvements for a better guest experience. However, in this case, your feedback isn’t constructive at all. Your suggestion that the house was “fairly clean” is bothersome. We keep it spotless – even when we don’t have guests. Referring to the previous group as “particularly messy” was out of line – especially when you did NOT know that group and did NOT see the condition of the place when they left. That group had been here for an entire week, and they were particularly delightful. Cleaning up after a group that stays for only a weekend can be challenging. Turning the entire place around in three hours after a group has lived here for a week is a daunting task, which is why we were just wrapping up the details when you arrived. I remind you that we let you know this might be the case five days prior to your arrival. I’m also offended and insulted at your insinuations about my son. Nate would be the first one to defend children against any kind of attack! This is a 20,000 sq. ft. home…my home. This is not a hotel. You knew that there were people living here, and I informed your parents when they arrived that some of my family would be here for the holiday weekend. We kept to our half of the house as much as possible and Nate was on his way to open the chicken coop, not harm your children. The only reason he walked through the main kitchen was because the stairs to the room he was in lead down to that kitchen where the door is. The implications of your comments are severe and entirely unfounded. I was sleeping in a house with you and your family (19 strangers!) and trusted that none of you were dangerous or would harm me. This house is huge and the description does not do it justice. The property is also very large for walks, however it was raining for most of our stay and we did not get to enjoy this aspect of the rental as much as we would have liked. There is a renter who lives in the house a…

Thanks so much for your feedback, Nathan! As you noted, the house is HUGE, and it's a challenge for my daughter and me to keep up with the maintenance. We were aware of the status of the ovens, but neither of us knew the range hood wasn't working. Since your visit, we've been shopping for a new oven and cleaned up the porch. Luckily, one oven is still working, and both ranges are in working order.

A HUGE space for a big group, with private bedrooms + bathrooms. Our group of friends was happy to be able to stay together for a wedding that weekend. Very close to the Lawton Community Center and town area. Large lot, very secluded. Appreciated the coffee, tea, water, large kit…

Huge space. VERY clean. All the amenities in the kitchen and elsewhere. Ask if other renters will be there. We weren't expecting that with a party of 13 ourselves. Land was lovely and when it wasn't raining, we explored the mowed trails !

Our group of 30 people fit very comfortable here. The kitchen is great for cooking for a big group. We had 15 adults and 15 kids under the age of 6. It worked out perfectly for us. The property is very nice with fun hiking trails. We would highly recommend this place to anyone lo…

Response from Penny:
Thanks for the feedback, Yaniv. The struggle against bugs and mice is continuous...sigh... It IS an old barn, and sometimes we just can't get away from that. We're also organic, so poisons are not an option I am even willing to consider. It comes down to having to live with all of Mother Nature. As for the shower heads, thank you and yes, we will go around and soak them in vinegar. They don't get rusty, but we have such hard water that they quickly get encrusted with minerals!
