Lovely views, gentle wave soundscape, privacy & the bounty of locavore north fork delectables to be consumed via the grill, make for a great, rejuvenating, experience.

The cottage was exactly as described, very beautiful and secluded. Like others mentioned, there is no a/c so it can get hot during the day and cool at night. It didn't bother us though since the water was nearby and we could have bonfires at night by the house or down by the Sound. Joseph was prompt and very helpful in all our conversations. Would definitely rent again!

The cottage is truly a dream like place! Our family of 4 just spent a wonderful 5 days there. Joseph was very helpful and provided all the necessary information to access the cottage and the cottage is very well equipped and confortable (while rustic at the same time). We enjoyed kayaking on the Sound, watching the sun set from the garden, BBQs and campfires.

Joseph's house is a true gem. The pictures really capture the rustic feel and amazing location. We had breakfast outside every morning, enjoyed kayaking on the sound, and ate as many tomatoes as possible from the neighboring Breeze Hill Farm. The location on the bluff is stunning and the location in terms of North Fork vineyards is ideal. We were 20 minutes or less from just about everything, form Greenport to Mattituck. A really great escape.

What a unique place! There just aren't many places like this around, let alone ones you can (EMAIL HIDDEN)pletely stripped down & rustic while still being comfortable (bathroom, shower, kitchen, supplies, linens, everything works as needed). The outdoor area between the house and the bluff is perfect and where you'll spend most of your time. Picnic table, hammock, and a little deck jutting out barely over the edge providing a great view while you enjoy meals at the table. We slept in the screened in porch, with nice breeze & you can hear the sound. The real bedroom has a nice queen size bed. The area is great, if you're not familiar just drive around a bit and you'll find plenty of farm stands to pull over at and wineries to pop into for a tasting. Joseph was helpful and responsive in the lead up to our stay and even sent detailed instructions with photos on how to navigate the mile-long driveway (its actually pretty easy, and you'll probably see gophers, deer and hawks on your way in an out.)

This is a true gem of a place. Tucked away in a tiny corner of gorgeous North Fork countryside, it's a perfect private getaway that feels 10 times as far from the city as it really is. Rustic is definitely the word for the cottage itself- but it provides everything you could need for shore-side unplugging. The age, charm, and simplicity of the house add to a wonderfully connected feeling to the nature that surrounds, and the host, Joseph, could not be more responsive, helpful, informative, and inviting. Our 5-day stay was truly wonderful. We're dreaming already of our next stay.
