The space

Clean, private rooms at a great price with dependable wifi and A/C! There are many rooms available - each has 1 twin-size mattress. If this room is not available, then please CONTACT ME because I have more rooms. Thanks!

Guests can use the 2F co-workspace above Kang Thai restaurant. Guests can use the three bathrooms (3 showers, 2 have hot water shower, 2 have toilets and sinks). Guests may bring food home and eat in the kitchen, outside on 2F patio, or walk to Kang Thai restaurant 1F. No smoking anywhere: not inside, not outside. Guests can use the refrigerator. Interaction with guests

Since 2001, I've traveled to Thailand as a tourist 24 times. I'm happy to share travel ideas, experiences, and what I think are reasonable prices. I depend on apps like LINE (free app) to keep in contact with guests and to "share location" (GPS map feature) . Please download one of these apps and chat with me BEFORE you arrive in Bangkok. Thanks!

COMMUNICATION: You must chat with me both on Airbnb and another app before your check in day/time so we can plan your arrival and go over directions. Taking time to do this saves time later. Best idea: do this immediately after booking.
NEIGHBORS: Please never bother neighbors. (Neighbor = every person in a 1km radius of my house.) We are getting a lot of complaints about lost Airbnb people asking for help, asking for toilets, asking for telephone use, asking to look at maps, etc. Not cool. Not ok. Not ever. There’s no reason to bother locals. If you need help, contact your Airbnb host only. This applies to every city and every country.
FOOD & DRINKS & EATING on 2F outside patio or kitchen area only. Please tidy up once you finish.
TOILETS are for poop, pee, and toilet paper only. (Poop/pee/toilet paper should be flushed, not saved, in all toilets in Bangkok.) Please flush after each use. Our toilet paper is high quality; if you're using more than 1 or 2 squares at a time, you're using too much. Toilet plugged? It’s not the toilet, it’s you, so please plunge it until it works again.
GARBAGE: there are no garbage/trash bins in the building. Please take your garbage and recyclables downstairs and outside with you each time you leave. This really helps us stay bug-free.
SMOKING: No smoking inside. No smoking outside within 10 meters of any door or window.
WET THINGS: wet/damp clothes and towels --> hang towels and wet things outside room next to stairs. Please do not bring wet things inside your bedroom. (If you use the coin washing machines outside our building, please bring your wet things back to dry.)
AIR CONDITIONER: Keep your door closed if your A/C (air conditioner) is on. Turn air conditioner OFF every time you leave the room.
CHECK OUT by 11:00 and leave the room as you found it. Put the key in the lock. Make sure A/C is OFF.
GUESTS: Friends/guests may NOT enter the house.
DAMAGE: If anything is damaged (example: stained/marked/bleached towel), you will be charged a cleaning and/or replacement fee.
SAFETY: Please present your passport to your Airbnb host when asked. Name(s) on Airbnb reservation must match names on passport(s). Never open the locked entrance door for anyone.
COMMON SENSE & THAI LAW: in general, this is our home, for a day, for a week, for a month, and we share it with many others, so we need to use good common sense and follow the laws of Thailand.

I booked for only 2 days. After check in and stay for the very first day, I decided to extend another 2 more days. Location is good, very near to Rama9 MRT. Room are private. This place is good if you are solo traveler like me.

Rob's place is absolutely fantastic! It's a well designed mini co-living/working space above a modern, clean Thai restaurant. I work while I travel and I found the quiet and convenient location of the place to the biggest draw for me. The room is clean and minimalist: comes with a good, new twin bed with tasteful sheets, two towels, and a cover sheet. The AC unit is new and strong, quickly bringing the room to a chill in a few minutes. WIFI throughout the building is strong and I had no problems in my room. The place consists of six floors. The first floor is the restaurant where you are welcome to hang out, order meals at a decent price, or drink copious amounts of Thai Iced Tea. Second is the coworking space which has strong WIFI, plenty of desk space, a cold AC, and a TV room that I can only liken to a 21st-century Japanese tea room. Floors three to five are the living areas with each floor having its own shower/toilet room; water pressure is good, hot water is hot, and the staff keeps them constantly clean. Fridge on third, a surprise on the fourth, and cloth drying racks on the fifth. The last floor is an open area where you can dry more clothes, have a cigarette, or talk to the many cats that live next door. The location is in the Din Daeng District. Not much to see in terms of tourism but there are several good malls within walking distance, plenty of cheap and tasty street food, and subway access less than 1 km away. The Rod Fai Night Market 2 happens next to the Thai Cultural Centre, a 15-minute walk away. If you prefer to travel without seeing too many other tourists or want to experience how actual Bangkok residents live, the location is ideal. Rob is a grade-A host. From the onset, he was quick to establish communication and incredibly informative in helping me find the place. He recommends good restaurants, massages, and things to do around the area and always has an interesting story whenever you talk to him. His staff are very helpful and seem to be constantly cleaning the areas and attending to the restaurant. Besides Fern who speaks English impeccably, they do not understand particularly well so use G-Translate if you want them to do something for you. Other guests are a mix of longish term digital nomads trying to get some work done and mature, worldly tourists and travelers - not really a party place and no sign of your typical gap year backpacker. The cats next door sometimes get onto the sixth-floor area, they are pretty cute and good company. Definitely recommend!
