A characterful Grade 2 listed home, a minute's walk from Woodbridge's main Thoroughfare and historic Market Square. This cosy house is an ideal base from which to explore the town, with its independent cafes, award-winning bakery, pubs and restaurants. The beautiful Suffolk coast and countryside are just a short drive away. Two bedrooms - a double with ensuite, the second with 2 single beds. A very well equipped kitchen. Perfect for couples or business travellers. TV and wi-fi
Cosy, well equipped, town centre cottage in the historic town of Woodbridge, Suffolk. Great for walking, cycling, sailing, restaurants, cinema with easy rail access from London Liverpool Street. Just a short walk from the beautiful River Deben. Ideal accommodation for one or two couples or for a small family (no more than two children). There is one double bedroom with a small en suite shower room and toilet, and the second bedroom has 2 single beds.
This terraced house in the centre of the market town of Woodbridge is a period timbered building with great charm. The accommodation is comfortable and cosy, with central heating and a wood burner stove. The 'master' bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is a family bathroom and a well equipped kitchen, with washing machine and dishwasher.
The whole house is available for guests, and the pretty garden.
I will usually be available if needed but will not be in the house.
Woodbridge is a delightful small market town. Its focal point is the river Deben, with its historic Tide Mill, yachts and boatyards. The town has many individual shops in the main Thoroughfare and also in the Market Square. You can buy everything you need here! There are lots of busy restaurants and pubs, and a popular cinema with ice cream parlour. For lady shoppers, classy boutiques are located in the Square. Vanil, an exceptional homewards and design shop specialising in mid-century and Scandinavian style, is located in Church Street and well worth a visit.
From London there are trains to Woodbridge every hour (changing once at Ipswich). The train continues to Lowestoft. There are buses to and from the outlying towns and villages. The area is very popular with cyclists. The house does not have its own parking space but there is on street parking available nearby. I can help with this.
The house and the enclosed garden
Interaction with guests
I won't be in the house but I am usually available and just up the road if you need any help or advice!
Other things to note
This is a very old house and the staircase is winding and quite steep. Probably not suitable for very elderly folk or tiny children if unsupervised. Very tall people - be aware that in the 'old days' folk were a lot shorter. The doorways are quite low and people have been known to bump their heads! The ceilings are a good height, though!
I would prefer you not to smoke in the house please but you can in the garden! A small well behaved dog is most welcome but not on the furniture, please! Please don't take away any of the local information provided - future guests will need it when they stay. And PLEASE don't let your children play with the TV and Sky remote controls. This causes problems when the next guests arrive and cannot operate the TV!
I've lived in Woodbridge, Suffolk for many years and love returning to this beautiful area after trips away. Sailing is one of my pastimes and I enjoy walking with my dogs by the river and on the beaches. I have a keen interest in the arts, dance, gardening, reading, food and knitting.
