We had bad timing that the elevator was broken but the place itself was really really good. very relaxing.

Nice neighborhood the host was very accommodating the only thing that I don't like is we paid extra for the air condition even though it was included for what I paid online.

Ariel, Julia, and their whole family are very nice and welcoming. The condo is really central in Ermita and very well served by trains (United Nations), jeepneys, and taxis. The room is pretty spacious and comfy. Every Friday evening there is a social event with a barbecue and going out for a drink. Only cons regards - the wifi connection that is rather unreliable, so don't expect (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) calls (this is common in the Philippines, probably not their fault); - the elevator which is permanently out of order, and the flat is at the 6th (american) floor. Besides that, I really had a great staying.

Ariel and Julia were really friendly and helpful, just great. The place is simple, but it has everything you may need, moreover, you can always meet interesting people here from all over the world, this place is excellent for backpackers. Some say it is noisy, i can agree, but the truth is that it is noisy almost everywhere in Manila.

Finding this place was pretty simple with use of the directions given and a bit of studying the map prior to arriving. I decided to take the skytrain to UN Avenue station and walk the avenue until the street of the building. The notes of discomfort (cleanliness and roaches, spiders) are things that I experienced and had issues with so I would not recommend this stay if you are expecting to steer clear of these issues. The host had little to say to me which contrasts other reviews here but I did meet several others that were in and out of the apartment. They were friends and housemates of the host- he lives in the apartment across the street. The apartment isn't a very social one so pending what you seek, that matters. The best part about this place is it's close proximity to Manila Bay, Rizal Park and Intramuros. I am a walker so I walked to each of these destinations. My stay was doable but due to personal comforts, I would not stay here again.

Bob and Julia were very accomodating and hospitable hosts. Their place is conveniently located on UN Ave.; it is 10 mins away from the LRT, 10 mins away from Rizal Park amd about 15 mins away from Robinsons. They also hosted a Friday night BBQ for all the guests which I enjoyed a lot. It's a great place for backpackers.

Ariel and julia were fine hosts Their suggestions for travelling (and their friend bea) were very useful, since where to go to how to get a pilipino sim card for the phone The apartment is in a good area in manila, very close to rizal park and malate (which is the neighborhood where we went for dinner There were there other couple of travelers and was very nice to share with them experiences and some beers The apartment itself is more a backpacker place than a luxury or high end place... Anyhow, everything was correct!

I'm a backpacker myself, travelling all around the country! From place to place, I love to discover bohemian, wild and amazing places. In Manila, I enjoy to roam around the city and the alternative nightlife as an artist and musician too. Surfing, Mountain climbing, Interior design and Gardening are other of my hobbies.
I will be helpful to give you advices and information about the city and places to travel all along your stay in Philippines.
