Other things to note

Living on the water is a Eco Conscious experience. Most people living in these communities love living on the water and enjoy the nature that comes with it. Please keep in mind that anything dropped or that may blow away goes directly into our water and eco system. Also, the drains from the sink and showers go directly into the lake. We hope that you will care about keeping our lake clean just as we do. Eco friendly dish soaps, hand soaps, body soap, face soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. If you plan to bring your own products, please make sure that they are safe for the late or that they don't go down the drain. Be aware of what you rinse down the drain and avoid chemicals or heavy oils. There are bathrooms at the Marina that are plumbed and don't go directly into our lake if you need to rinse something that shouldn't go into the Lake.
Absolutely no pets are permitted in the listing. The fine for bringing any pet on the property with out prior written approval starts at $200. The marina management has ultimate authority to disapprove a pet from the marina and this home currently hasn't been approved with management to allow pets.

Follow all rules posted at the Marina. Please keep in mind that you are personal guest of "Amelia Matera". All of the neighbors are super friendly and welcoming of my guests. Please keep in mind that your behavior is reflective on me and my ability to continue to live at this marina so it is very important to me.
Please make sure you treat my charming home as your own and are a environmentally conscious lake resident. I will try to go over things with you personally but would also require that you read the home info provided in the binder on board. It is important that all products being used in the shower and sink are lake friendly. Also, please consider that the septic system is extremely sensitive and being used carefully by not putting ANYTHING down the head except a little TP and being sure not to overflow the tank. I stayed on the house boat for six weeks. Amelia was extremely welcoming and was available at check-in to show me the boat and all it had to offer. When ever I had questions during my stay Amelia got back to me right away - which I very much appreciated! I worked 2.5 miles from the marina and the bus line was right across the street. It is within walking/biking distance to everything, or a $10 Uber ride. Being on Lake Union during the summer is such an amazing experience. I spent most weekends kayaking to different patios around the lake. The boat is tiny house living for sure - but it has a full kitchen with everything you need to cook. I had enough room for my clothes with the large dresser and wardrobe. The shower is larger than in the pictures. Also, I had two friends come stay for one weekend - one stayed on the futon/sofa and the other brought a twin air mattress that fit on the floor just in front of the sofa. It was tight with three people on the boat but do able for a weekend. This little gem was a memorable experience and a definite must when coming to explore Seattle!

Great place, if you're prepared to accept a smaller living space, the general location and amenities are still great value for money!

I had wanted to stay both in a tiny house and a floating house as well. This was both. Since this was a mid week stay and was also not great weather, it was very quiet. I was there on business, so I didn't spend much time there, but I slept very well, maybe due to the gentle rocking. It was as pictured.

The house boat rocked! Perfect location, with access to the bus to downtown. Downtown views, and quiet neighbors. It was quite enjoyable being rocked to sleep each night. This will be my go-to place to stay whenever I'm in seattle.

Amelia's houseboat was super swag! The space is well cared for, comfortable, and surprisingly roomy for a small studio boat. I never met Amelia, but she was delighted to assist when I contacted her. Also, she provided a comprehensive guide of houseboat and the area. House living is delightfully different on a boat in all sorts of ways! Be prepared for cold winters and hot summers, smokey cooking, and pump toilets. Amelia provides plenty of amenities that address everything. Either way, prepare for an adventure!

The houseboat is cute and cozy with all the essentials. The marina has plenty of parking and the neighbors were really friendly. I really enjoyed the location right off the ship canal bike trail, and walking distance to Ballard and Fremont. I'm sure it'd be awesome to stay here in the summer when it'd be better to hang out outside and make use of the kayaks.
