This spacious and well appointed cottage was built 30 years ago to capture the sun and views in the grounds of one of Hawkes Bays finest historic homesteads. Situated half an hour's drive from Hastings and Havelock North, the property is nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by sheep, beef and arable farms. The 10 hectare lifestyle block has a few horses, cattle and chickens. Frequent visitors to the cottage are a fox terrier and fluffy cat.

The space
The 116 square metre house has been completely refurbished with new carpets, a new queen bed, new fridge, washing machine, TV, Toilet and 5kw air conditioning unit.

Your own superfast Wi-fi network by StarLink is available throughout. Mobile phone reception is good.

The Tukituki, one of of the worlds best trout fishing rivers is only 3 kms down the road. Otane is 5 minutes drive and Waipawa is less than 10. Hawkes Bay is one of New Zealand’s best holiday destinations with wonderful summers, wineries and many tourist attractions. Several pristine beaches are only 30 minutes drive away.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside in the heart of rural New Zealand. The farm buildings nearby are the workshops of Wood Mallets Ltd, an award winning, world renowned Croquet and Polo mallet manufacturer.

The cottage has large, warm and bright rooms with superb furniture and fittings. Two sheltered decks and a small garden. A lemon tree usually supplies enough lemons for the drinks.

Paddocking for horses can be arranged if required.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to view the workshop by appointment and we're always happy to suggest local attractions etc.

Other things to note
Fresh milk, eggs, and butter bread and jam will be in the fridge and a selection of breakfast cereals are in the pantry. A bowl of seasonal fruit is provided when available.

Married to George with 4 adult children. We enjoy travelling and meeting like minded people. Horses are our passion and I spend a lot of time looking after our horses used for polo and hunting. George works from home exporting polo and croquet mallets.
