I allow children 8 years and up. Pua Hale has lots of fragile items including real custom made sliding shoji doors which could get damaged by children. If there is any damage to the doors they will have to be repaired and the renter is responsible for that.
There is no smoking allowed in or around Pua Hale. We appreciate quiet at night since this is a residential neighborhood. We have very friendly neighbors.

We loved it to stay at Pua Hale. It is a wonderful house and you can see that Carol Ann really puts in a lot of work to keep it as beautiful as it is with a personal touch. There is a perfect beach in walking distance and the watching the sundown there is just breathtaking. Carol Ann was the best host one can imagine!

Carol Anne's Pula Hale is the best. We were delighted from the moment we walked in the door! From the beautiful and private beachside house to the fresh fruit she had placed out for us. We actually complained of a stiff bed and she went out and promptly bought us an amazing memory foam mattress cover!! You cannot go wrong by staying here!!!

I absolutely LOVED Pua Hale. My favorite part other than the general layout and cool breeze with the porch doors open all the time and from the ceiling fans (no a/c needed), were the many many geckos! I loved them! I also loved the sound of the water feature in the back. The shower was great too. CarolAnn and Norman are super friendly and the whole place has a wonderful peaceful vibe. Super close to Poipu beach. A really nice, lush residential street. Easy to get anywhere from the place. I would definitely go back. GECKOS! If you love an occasional wildlife sighting inside your place, stay at Pua Hale. Every morning I would wake up and look for them. If you're squeamish though, this is not the place for you. : )

Our stay at Carol Ann's guest cottage was amazing. The location is perfect to access the beach and everything else in the Poipu area. The place is larger than it looks and has plenty of privacy. We stayed for 9 days and look forward to returning again on our next visit to Hawaii. We are grateful we found such a gem away from all the busy resorts yet only a couple blocks away.

I am a painter and professional photographer and have won awards in many shows. My work is in many private collections as well as the State of Hawaii I have been active in Hawaii's arts community since 1964. I have degrees in graphic design and communication and my husband was an engineer and started Kauai's water department. I was born in Hawaii and my family has been here since the 1870s. I have three grown children & 10 grandchildren. Two small dogs and two cats share my home. I am an avid animal lover and volunteer with the local humane society as often as I can. My husband, Walter Briant,(deceased 2008) and I built this home as a very special vacation rental at Poipu Beach. It was built in a Japanese style and is furnished with Japanese antique tansus with bronze cranes in the garden. We built it on our 1/2 acre property at the Poipu Beach resort area but it is on a dead end street so is quiet though very near to all resort amenities.
I have traveled all over the world and continue to do so.
