Completely private experience in wonderful rural surroundings, wake up to breakfast delivered to you. Tui and bell birds singing whilst looking down the valley OV offers a little luxury a real bed, cotton linen, carpet, heater, electricity, storage, comfy chairs, on an evening step out onto deck, into your own private outside bath with rose petals and bath salts and look up at the Milky Way this is your space for you to enjoy the rural surroundings set in our garden paddock relax and rest.

The space
Orchard View Retreat (Adults only) surrounded by fruit trees and the sound of bell birds, Tui and other local birds. This is something different and Adults only. Great get away from it all.
Your accommodation is located in a garden paddock overlooking the valley and paddocks, surrounded by sheep (sometimes) the bell tent is double skinned so it’s like double glazing keeping you warm and dry but not to hot like some tents It has a real bed with cotton linen, bathrobes, towels, fan and heater! The garden paddock is approx one acre with views down the valley has been landscape to maximize your experience and unique romantic privacy. With an outdoor bath complete with rose petals and bath salts it makes the experience that more romantic.
BUT...
You will also have the exclusive use of the in-house shower/toilet room and kitchenette facilities and barbecue kettle/fire basket when permitted

A continental breakfast menu is located in the kitchenette and delivered to your kitchenette at pre-arranged time the next morning. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions do we might help.
If you wondered about the bikes and your belongings - you have the convenience of a large lockable outdoor shed great bikes etc.
Also outside barbque/fire basket (NB prohibited in very dry weather)

We are located just 15km from Taupo CBD and only five mins from Kinloch beach (Whangamata Bay) Lake Taupō so anywhere is within easy access.
Things to do apart from relaxing,
Kinloch and Taupo
Albeit quiet for your comfort here, in Kinloch you can mountain bike on the many trails with easy access to Great Lake Trail and bay to bay taxis this is a great area for mountain biking.
Golfing packages - as well ad our two hole pitch and putt on site we offer golfing packages so please let us know if you would like more information of these.
Swimming in the Lake is wonderful its clear fresh water make it a must do.
Of course there is boating, fishing , kayaking, here and you can play tennis or just chill on the beaches.
Eating out in Kinloch there a few chooses - The Kinloch Store cafe a favorite for oven baked pizzas made to order and the Tipsy with its La a carte menu over looking the lake. The Kinloch Club (Golf club) cafe also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner
Kinloch its a haven for mountain bikers entrance to The Great Lake Trail which is a good challenge Taupo has many options for mountain bikers to Carters of the Moon just to name one area.
Golfers we have two courses in Kinloch. Taupō has 4 courses and lots of boutique shops and cafe's for partners who don’t play.

Guest access
With an easy route to follow from Taupo and two turns and a straight road to get to Kinloch 5km away, our location couldn't be easier. Look out for 80 km sign on the Whangamata road. We are next right turn.

Other things to note
Parking allowed on site for cars and boats but please ask first. There is no local public transport
I’m Kinloch so a car is required.
We can help with transportation of you and bikes to the Great Lake trails. Bay to Bay taxis provided great access around the lake too!

Do not light fire. We are a rural community and fires are not all ways allow so please check with us so we can check local Fire Services rules. (Do not help yourself to our fire wood which is drying around our barns.)
There is a fine of $2000 which you will be liable for.

CBD of Kinloch comprises of a corner shop that also provides excellent takeaway food... including a stone oven cooked pizza's, a restaurant called The Tipsy and a Fire Station... not much but we call it home! There are also two sets of tennis courts, two golf courses one of which, is the Jack Nicholas Course with cafe. In addition there is a play ground area with climbing bars, BBQ, boat ramps, two excellent Y2K mountain bike tracks that are part of the Great Lake Trail and double up as walks plus others.

Clive and I have been in Kinloch for over 14 years now. We love the diversity of this beautiful area Kinloch and Great Lake Taupo there is always something to do on our FarmStay so whether it be sporting activities or entertainment and this is why we love living here. Our favourite sport is golf and there are so many golf courses in and around Kinloch , cycling on The Great Lake Trail is within easy reach
