The Lodge on Lake is located on the doorstep of Bond University within the bustling village of Varsity Lakes and directly on busy Lake Street. We are offering a 30sqm studio bed-sitter for short term rental on the 3rd floor.
Your access to the Studio is via a winding common stair to the third level of a mixed use building that houses a local architectural practice and two other residential lettings. The main room of the open-plan studio is 5m x 6.5m, with a Juliette balcony and is equipped with a queen bed and a sitting area that contains a single sofa-bed (Please at the time of submitting a booking request the sofa bed to be made if you expect to use it). The ensuite enters off of this main room, while the kitchenette and meals area is located at the entry in an adjunct space that adds another 2.2m x 2.6m to the Studio. Please refer to floor plan image.
The Studio has year-round thermal comfort by way of a reverse cycle air conditioner at your control. The room also has cross ventilation and plenty of light, with aluminium plantation style shutters to moderate that light to your liking. The kitchenette is equipped with an under-bench bar refrigerator (no freezer), a convection microwave (no cook top), kettle and single-drawer dishwasher, along with a fold out ironing table. There is a full wardrobe, complete with drawers and shoe storage, along with a flat screen TV.
The unit has a video intercom to the front door and you are able to open the door from the comfort of your room.
Guests will park in the common garage and will access the room via a common winding stair.
On site Parking has a maximum headroom of 2020mm. Vehicles above this height cannot be accommodated on site and will need to park on street. (Please advise us at the time of booking that you require onsite parking for the duration of your stay)
Interaction with guests
We live and work in other parts of the building and are happy to provide local advice if required.
Other things to note
Varsity Lakes and the Bond University campus are both beautiful places within southeast Queensland, with recreational lakes, environmental areas, walking trails and bike paths, complementing the 'main street' style coffee-culture all around you. Whether your stay is for study, sightseeing or a seminar, we are confident that you will be pleased with the location and comfort of our Varsity Lakes Studio.
As the Studio is on the 3rd level and accessed by a winding stair, guests with heavy baggage may prefer to opt for one of our other listing - Studio 2 as it is only one floor above ground level.
Please review the house rules and detailed description, including location, prior to confirming the booking to make sure the listing is suitable for your needs.
This listing is for a maximum of 2 people only. Please request the sofa bed to be setup at the time of submitting a booking if you expect to use it.
The Lake on Lodge is strictly smoke and pet free, including all public and private areas. Failure by the occupant or occupant's visitors to adhere to this policy shall be cause for immediate termination of the Rental Agreement and eviction without refund.
Should you or your guest decide to smoke inside the Studio or any of the common areas, a charge of $200 will be applied to your account. This charge is to meet the cost of cleaning soft furnishings, curtains, carpets, and the replacing of air conditioning filters to restore the room to a smoke free environment, in keeping with the expectations of our non-smoking guests.
Whilst the studios and unit are self contained, please be aware they are part of our home and guests are required to be respectful and keep noise levels down so as not to disturb other residents.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

We are "empty-nesters" who live on the Gold Coast, Australia and run a small architecture and urban design firm. We have two studios and a small 1 bedroom unit in our house that used to be home to our children whilst they attended University. They have moved on to bigger and better things so we are making the studios and unit available to others to enjoy. We live and work in the same building so are on hand if needed, but as the studios and unit are independent spaces you can come and go as you please.
