Our Pacific Yurt is nestled privately in our farm/forest setting against acres of old growth in the nature park! Just minutes from downtown you’ll see panoramic views of the city while watching the red tailed hawk fly overhead. Relax under the "moonroof" and watch the stars by cricket song. Unique features incl. raw wood interior and forest/valley views. Enjoy a comfy bed + mini fridge and delights of house commons, hammocks. Shower under the trees in the yurts solo Bathhouse compost tiolet.

The space
This classic Northwest Pacific Yurt features skylight, comfy memory foam Queen bed and French doors to a meadow filled with wildflowers and deer. It sits in the meadow across from the main house near our Landkeepers cabin.. (Glamping). Electric heat and All season feather comforters keep it cozy except for the coldest weather—- though the insulated NASA wall interiors keep it cozy most year round.

This site is socially distanced for work or getaway with its own bath house and private walking path if needed.

Enjoy the beauty of our urban farm Mother Tree nestled within the banks of Powell Butte, just minutes from SE PDX amenities. Enjoy incredible walks through old growth forest, scenic 360 views of the Sierras, our local farm animals including our Mini Donk “Rocky” (feel free to feed him carrots and apples over the fence), pigs, chickens, ducks, Magic our barn cat and our resident farm dogs Skye and Charlie, who will exchange a tour of the property for some pats and pets.

*Note: the bathroom is your own private outdoor bath house where you can shower with on demand hot water under the trees, use a unique custom full cycle composting toilet system. ****until further notice —Due to COVID main house bath is not available—normally Hot tub by RSVP and a $10 usage fee.

Awarenesses:
Animals: we are a working mini farm. Please text us when you arrive so we can secure all our animals before you exit your car. For your safety please do not feed the animals by hand. You are welcome to throw veggies over to the donkeys or pigs. There are two access points -one that has no interaction with the main house/animals -a short meadow path up hill to the yurt. A second entrance guides you behind the main house and bird yard (turkeys, chickens, ducks) where we also have our livestock guardian sheepdogs.

Fire/Flame: A Zero tolerance policy. No Smoking, Fire, candles, Vape on the entire property due to the proximity to the nature park and difficult fire department access.
A $250 fine for any evidence of smoking onsite.

Guest access
All common areas including front and back decks, hammocks, views. Main floor bath and an outdoor bath house with composting toilet. (weather permitting/seasonal)

Other things to note
The path lights across the meadow are on a timer set off at 10:00 pm. Please bring a phone or provided flashlight after hours. Please alert us if you need more towels or anything is amiss.

Rain! Most people find the sound of the rain soothing on the tent top. The Pacific Yurt is made in Oregon —where it rains a lot! But if it’s not your cup of tea we supply a medical kit below the sink with the basics -including earplugs. Sweet dreams either way.

Never hesitate to text us with a question at any hour. No need to suffer. We are well stocked for things but may have not yet anticipated your need.

I love guests and have a desire to share the world with my children. A background in event planning, hospitality, journalism and education has given me the opportunity to host in many venues--but my favorite is here at home. Im a forest therapy guide, flower essence alchemist and childbirth educator/doula. I spend my spare time in the garden, hiking and reading about sustainability or meeting the flower fairies in the woods. I love local food feasts, storytelling, yoga, gardening and meeting new people.
