In the heart of historical Paris near the Louvre.  The penthouse of a 17th Century timbered building, the apartment can sleep up to 7 people (5 beds).

The security deposit represents the MAXIMUM amount for which you would be liable ONLY IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGE DURING YOUR STAY. Otherwise you pay nothing. The process is 100% controlled by ABNB as mediators.

An original 17th century wooden staircase leads up to the living areas, beamed drawing room (elegant 18th Century mirror) and separate kitchen: fully equipped, Siemens high-end oven, Miele washer/drier. All utensils are provided to ensure the most enthusiastic chefs amongst you can eat in if you choose

A second staircase leads up to the 2 bedrooms, and Philippe Starck designer bathroom (installed 2015).  The bedroom's skylight (blackout blinds for restful sleep) offers views of the neighbouring St. Eustache Church.  Solid bleached oak parquet flooring throughout.

Cleaning after your stay, bed and bath linens are all included in the cost of your stay. You are required to take all rubbish out and to wash your dishes or load the dishwasher the night before. A penalty of 50 Euros will automatically be levied if you do not do this. This reflects the charge that the professional cleaning company pass onto us.

Must climb stairs - The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a 17th century building. There is virtually no lifts near the Louvre. Floors are not long (17th century!).

Excellent location. Quiet area, yet near restaurants and the metro. It was easily located; we took the train from the airport directly to the AirBNB. The wifi worked great and We absolutely loved a clean modern bathroom. This place was perfect for the 5 of us. Also, James provided prompt responses whenever we inquired about anything.

A flat in an 18th century structure. Wow! Coming from the U.S., that's not a typical vacation stay :) We loved the coziness of the flat. The location. Both the street the flat is on and the one right over are teaming with cafe's and patisseries. We absolutely loved it. A couple of things that you should consider (mostly for Americans :)) a) Being 18th structure, the wood floors creek in spots. This noise tended to wake my wife up. Personally? I think it adds character to the place b) If you plan to do laundry , the unit has a washer but not a separate dryer. You can spin-dry dry half the wash load. However, as the House Manual suggested, we quickly took to air drying our (URL HIDDEN) Loved the place and the whole package, including the information, the responsiveness. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the Welcome bottle of French red wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Salute!

This was my second visit to the Louvre apartment and I enjoyed it as much as the first time round. A bit of an indulgence as I was alone for work this time and didn't need all the place (which was ample when there were five of us last time). However, when travelling alone safety is a consideration for me, so the central location and the reliable professionalism with how James and his team manage things are always welcome reassurances. It was boiling hot in Paris and the fully integrated aircon system was a blessing and worked perfectly which isn't always my experience in hotels. I would not hesitate to recommend Pad-a-terre and this apartment to groups of friends, families or even couples. James's Pad-about-town blog is also great and well worth a look, giving unique insightful tips about Paris from the perspective of a local.

We visited this lovely apartment for the second time this year. James is a charming host and will go out of his way to help with anything. The apartment is decorated to a high and comfortable standard it is also very spacious (not readily available in Paris). It is very clean and the area .. its the best !!! James gives a great list of local restaurants. We travelled as a couple but will be returning with our three kids during the summer.

Excellent apartment for a short stay in Paris. Holds 4 people and 3 very comfortably. One room can hold two beds, but they are directly against each other and fill up the room entirely. There is also a queen size bed, wich is nice for couples. They have an extra inflatable bed, if that is to your liking. There also is a sofa that can fold out as another bed. The apartment is not too big, but if you are in Paris, you are most likely not going to spend a lot of time in the apartment. The location is very convenient for exploring Paris. Very close to The Louvre, Notre Dame, Mussee D'Orsay, the Seine and so on. The area has many restaurants and bars all within 1 min walking. Les Halles has been upgraded in the recent years and it really is a nice neighbourhood. I would defintely recommend it for a short stay. If you are spending a little bit more time in Paris (a week or longer) you might want to consider something bigger with a party of 4+. Although space is a relative term in Paris.

We only stayed one night (unfortunately) it was a great place really woukd recommend a visit (if possible more than one night). James went out of his way help with restaurant booking etc. We dined at Comptoir and had foie gras ravioli as suggested it was excellent!!! The apartment was perfect for the 5 of us loved the location lots of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. We Very comfortable night sleep the road had little traffic and was quiet. We had been bothered about the stairs had no difficulty with them. Loved the decor of this apartment very light and airy. Next time we plan to come for longer!!
