Other things to note

Regarding Pets: We love dogs and know they are family and want to be welcoming to them. We have realized there are some extra house logistics that go along with having a four legged guest and would like to discuss with you before accepting your reservation. We have found that most dogs are unable to go up and down our spiral staircase and some dog toenails can mark the stairs. We would request that they stay off the furniture and do not come into the house wet and are overall well adjusted and generally prefer dogs stay on the first floor as the upstairs rooms are carpeted. We do have a dog gait that can be used for the spiral staircase. Pet approval on a case by case basis.

Thank you, Melissa and Nathan for being fantastic hosts. You are most generous with your home. The lake was even more beautiful than we imagined. The water was crystal clear and perfect refreshing temperature. Brent ventured out in a kayak and I made my mom watch me dive off the dock like I was 6 years old again (I turn 36 this weekend). It was beautiful and quiet. We played games and laughed a lot, just as you suggested. The stairs were a challenge since we had to run up them to potty the dogs. The dogs didn't seem to mind though! Again, thanks for the lovely stay! Joslin Starkey

I was looking for a place for my parents to rent when they came from the East Coast. I live in Olympia and wanted to have close access to them but for them to have a little "vacation". Melissa and Nathan could not have made us feel more welcome! Not only were they there with huge smiles to greet us and show us around, they left a gift basket, as well as little bathroom items to get us through the stay! Their directions were thorough and they were awesome. The lake is extremely gorgeous, the neighbors are super nice, and the weather was perfect. We also saw a tremendous sunset! For my partner and I, it was really helpful to be a fairly quick ride to Olympia so we could go home and get back easily. Thanks Nathan and Melissa for a fantastic trip! We highly recommend it.

Melissa & Nathan were great! The lake house was exactly what I was looking for. Summit Lake is a true gem. An added A+ was that they included kayaks, a stand up paddle board & life (URL HIDDEN) much fun!!!

Melissa and Nathan made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home on Summit Lake. In addition to a very nice welcome basket that included pasta sauce and noodles, apples, popcorn and a gourmet chocolate bar, they left great instructions about important house details. Their home is beautiful decorated with an exquisite view of Summit Lake. The first thing we did was sit on the desk and sipped a beverage while watching the sun go down. We both slept very well and appreciated the coffee left by them which we enjoyed in the morning. I went off to work while my friend enjoyed the lake all day. We used the kitchen both nights to prepare dinner since we'd been traveling a week and were tired of eating in restaurants. It was a very nice kitchen that had nice provisions for cooking. We'd definitely come back here.

We had a great time at your wonderful lake shore house. It was perfect for two couples, and tour hosts thought of everything. The views of the lake and fisherpeople were super. Couldn't have imagined a better place to stay for the weekend in the area. Thank you Melissa and Nathan for making your home available to us!

My brother and I really enjoyed our time at Melissa & Nathans. They were excellent at going over details and answering all the questions I had. We found the lake really relaxing and it was so nice to have a view of the water from almost every room! I would highly recommend their home...they go out of their way to make it special for guests!

Melissa and Nate were so very accommodating in all senses of the word. Before arrival they made sure to leave very detailed instructions, provide ideas of recreational activity around the lake, and pull out their personal kayaks for our use (although it was far too rainy when we arrived to use them). Arriving to a goodie basket was a perk too, of course! The visit itself was relaxing. EVERY floor had a stunning view of the lake and its surroundings. Whether the sun was out or the lake was covered in fog, the experience was majestic. Our weekend was incredibly relaxing and the home was able to feel remote without being really far away from the city. If you are thinking about your next visit to the Olympia area, Nate and Melissa's home should be number one on your list of places to stay! I cannot speak highly enough of our stay on Summit Lake.

Melissa and I (Nathan Young) live on Summit Lake in Olympia. We are considering listing our room/house on airbnb. We've have a clean and cute 3 story, 2 bd, 3 ba home on a large alpine lake. We are both working professionals who enjoy hiking, biking, boating and cooking. We are very respectful guests and both have a love for life and for each other :-) We have no children.
