The house was originally built in the 1940s and is located in the 'Joshua Tree Village' on Park Blvd, the road that leads into the National Park. If you're into history - it is one of the original structures in Joshua Tree!
The place is within walking distance to town, the Saloon, the Visitor's Center, Coyote Corner Gift Shop, Crossroads Cafe, Park Rock Cafe, the Farmer's market, the Thai restaurant, Antique stores, the works. It's a 5 minute drive to the National Park Main Entrance and a great way to enjoy seeing it all at your own pace (the Park pass is good for 7 days so you can exit and return multiple times). We're about 15 minutes to Pioneertown, Pappy & Harriet's, and Integratron.
The house has an awesome kitchen with lots of space, a table for 4, concrete countertops, dishwasher and fridge, gas range and oven, everything you'd need to cook, and sliding glass doors leading out onto a courtyard.
We have a stereo system for music, great wifi, and the TV has a Roku with HBOgo/Netflix.
Outside of the plumbing, we renovated the place full time just the two of us for 7 months and are very proud to say it is done!
The Cowboy Pool is the newest addition, it is all properly plumbed, filtered, maintained, and nurtured like it's my baby. Since it is thin metal it is of course not possible to heat in the winter months, but nice to lounge around nonetheless!
The house has a guest house that is attached only on the outside, there is no shared space and the GH does not have access to the back/pool.
All professional photography / commercial use must have written permission before being conducted on the property.
Get in touch with any questions, the house was our first project out here and think it is a great way to experience Joshua Tree!
Please respect the house and property as you would your own home. We've worked extremely hard renovating the house from its dilapidated state, it feels like an extension of ourselves!
Any film or photo related bookings need explicit permission prior to putting in a reservation request. Regardless of the particular budget, we have to charge additional fees due to the nature of these bookings and our prior experiences :/
No music is allowed outside, and please only very respectfully inside. The backyard is private but any sound travels at the speed of light in the thin unobstructed desert air and miles away neighbors can get cranky!
Any guests above the number the booking was made for must be announced beforehand, even if they're 'not staying over' ! Thank you!

I'm Ryan, I've been out in Joshua Tree for 3 years. Falling in love with the high desert kind of took me my surprise. It is so incredibly peaceful, tranquil, serene, and inspirational. It's a great place to 'get away from it all' and discover your connections with nature and with yourself. I have a few places out here, all projects that I bought in rundown rough shape and fixed up myself.
My first one is in the Joshua Tree Village (JT Village Park Blvd one) that is rented as a house (for up to 4 people), a guest house (2 people, JT Village GH one), and both together (6-7 people, the "Full Experience" listing). They're within walking distance to the little town: the Saloon, Crossroads, the local Farmer's market, the National Park Visitor's center, the JT Health Foods store.
The other ones (360, Land of the Lost Boulders, Starfire, Chaparral Mesa, the Power Plant and the Outpost) are all within 15 minutes from the town. The Leeds Cabin is 25 minutes. 360 is about incredible views, boulders, and wildlife - more adorable animals than I've seen anywhere in the Morongo Basin. The Lost Boulders house sits on the most serene and explorable land, and has a spectacular energy inside. Starfire has an unmatched setting - perched on top of a hill, the only house on that hill, overlooking it's own mini canyon. The design and feeling at Chaparral Mesa is the most 'frontier'' - a true feeling of being a pioneer in a homesteader cabin. The Power Plant of the Dorthian Löwen (looow-ven), all about sleek modern minimal design, a clutter-free experience that brings out the gorgeous desert colors in the mountains that surround. The Leeds Cabin is a small all-you-need cabin with nothing but beautiful quiet desert surrounds. My most recent project, the Outpost, I picture back in the Wild West a place that you've traveled for a full day to get to, to find out news from back East and rest your head and horse for the night.
I love each and every one of them, they've all been important and valued stages in my life. They have become a part of who I am.
I'd be happy to help plan your time out here, and let me know if you have any questions about the projects or the area in general. They are much more than 'airbnb's to me - I love each and every one of them!
