Guest "room" is a spacious 2BR flat for 2 located on its own floor of a large shared multi-level home. It includes an enclosed outside room.
Private bathroom is on the upper main floor with a large shared kitchen. Park and garden views.
This space is the lower level of a large multi-level home originally built in the early 1940s... one of the first houses on this block. The feel of the guest space is similar to a private flat and I am working to make the space more autonomous so guests can enjoy this privacy and convenience. Currently there is a small sitting area and refrigerator in the space outside of the room. Upstairs there is a full private bathroom as well as a shared large sun-lit kitchen, separate dining room, deck with gourmet BBQ, and entertainment room. The lower flat has are 2 large bedrooms with unique floor plans. The 1st bedroom is a suite with an additional smaller room containing a twin daybed. The 2nd bedroom is adjacent to a private deck. Both bedrooms have queen beds with luxury sheets. The guest space comfortably accommodates 4 adults (2 couples or a small family). The entire house has had as many as 8 adults living comfortably in it at once (mostly artists and musicians).
Guests will have full access to the lower level of the house as well as all rooms mentioned in "The Space" section. You are welcome to any of the food in the kitchen, which usually consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, granola or muesli, pasta, rice, organic milk, local eggs, hand-churned butter, etc... (your host is vegetarian but it is ok if you are not - neither is the cat).
Interaction with guests
I live on the main floor above this flat and will handle all house-related management tasks such as garbage/recycling/compost and keeping the kitchen stocked with food. I have a very active lifestyle, so we may not cross paths too often, but I am available to greet guests and can help with suggestions for sights to see, restaurants to enjoy, or anything else that might come up. I have been living here in the neighborhood for over 10 years and have been living within close proximity to SF for more than 25 years. Please consider me available to help with all of your needs during your visit to San Francisco!
Other things to note
The pricing for "extra guests" is based on the number of beds being used. If you are a couple traveling together who plan to only use one bed, fill the request for 1 guest and mention this in the notes (so I make sure there are enough towels and such for 2 people).
There is a small cat living here. The main floor is her primary lair and she has no access to the guest space. She is incredibly friendly and playful (might even bring you one of her toys to play fetch with).
The private bathroom for guests is on the main floor. There is a staircase to the main floor that can be nearly impossible to navigate with crutches or anything similar. I would not recommend this space to anyone with mobility impairment(s).
The main entrance to the flat on the lower level is through a common space used for storage and bike parking. It currently has the feel of a workspace (I am doing some small renovations in it). It has it's own secure separate entrance but I encourage guests to use the entrance on the main floor.
I also tend to decline single night reservations for weekend nights. I have a really busy schedule and find it difficult to meet for check-in/out during the weekend. (Sorry!!) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

Originally from California, I grew up in the Bay Area, frequently visiting family in Tahoe and Los Angeles. Currently living in San Francisco, I enjoy being outside for long endurance runs, cycling, hiking, kayaking, and gardening, as well as being inside for yoga, reading, or playing some musical instruments. When not in the city I enjoy spending time in the mountains, especially Truckee! :-)
