Centennial house in the Oporto´s Fine Arts University neighbourhood. Recovered by artists, this house is full of light, color, nice details and good energy. Great location, with most popular sightseeing places in a 10 min walk. Come and enjoy!

The space

A house with a lot of charisma for it´s architectural style and decoration. The flat is on the 2º floor and is capable of accommodating four persons very comfortably. Equipped with all the commodities so you can have all you need while you are on vacation. Even a hammock to take a sunbath waits.
The building has recently been refurbished by a group of artists who wanted to create a concept and a unique style, where the preservation of the original features of the building were very important. Around the house you’ll be able to enjoy artworks from several local artists.

Located in an area with a somehow different environment, this is a very central downtown area located at the exact distance away from the all hustle and bustle of the city. A 10 minute walk from most points of interest (i.e. the main church: Sé, Luiz I bridge, Majestic Café, Ribeira, São João National Theatre, Castle Walls etc.), Roughly at 5 minutes walking you will also find a place of great cultural reference the "Maus Hábitos" where you get to see art exhibitions, concerts, poetry, theatre plays, etc.), the space is also fun at night with lots of options and for all tastes . Just downstairs you can find bakery with fresh bread, a grocery for your daily needs, restaurants and supermarkets.

Guest access

The house is fully equipped with all conditions and facilities for a comfortable season:

Bedroom 1:
Quite spacious with balcony, large windows and plenty of light. The room is equipped with double bed and their linens (fresh sheets, pillows, duvets, blankets), wardrobe, desk, fan and heater.

Bedroom 2:
It's a smaller room but it has plenty of light and is very cosy, with an interior window. Has a bunk bed and their linens (fresh sheets, pillows, duvets, blankets), fan and heater.

Typically Oporto’s, this home has the bathroom and separate toilet. Equipped with antique sanitary ware as freestanding bath and hand-painted washbasin and toilet. This are small details that make these spaces genuine. It also has a heater, hairdryer, spare towels and shower gel always available.

With all necessary equipment so you can dine (fridge, stove, microwave, electric kettle, washing machine, toaster). Kitchenware is also at your disposal in case you prefer cooking at home. You will find some basic grocery products that you can use (i.e. pasta, olive oil, salt, sugar, tea, etc..).

Living room:
A very welcoming and full of light living room where you can enjoy sunbathing late in the afternoon in our hammock. Full of antiques, artistic details and decorative elements. It has all the features for you to feel in a cosy atmosphere and truly on vacation. It’s equipped with sofas, poufs, coffee tables, TV, stereo and DVD / PlayStation II system. It also has a very nice corner with a chair by the window, an ideal place to relax while reading some of the books available in the house.

In case of need there´s also a washing machine, drying area, and the respective detergents and softeners, so you can do your laundry.

Interaction with guests

Depending on my availability, I’ll be happy to show you around some of the most interesting sites to visit (i.e. homes with panoramic views of local regional delicacies, traditional restaurants, popular areas and historic buildings. In any case I will always be available to indicate you on the map the places of interest referred above, as well as places of nocturnal activity or places more suitable for families or lovers. (Romantic gardens, cultural centres, etc.).

Other things to note

To the most daring one’s, there’s also something very peculiar and unique near the house. Oporto´s famous “islands” (ilhas). A very typical industrial neighbourhood built by the end of 19th century with the fast industrial development in the city, people from the country began to move to the city searching for work and a better life . The city wasn’t prepared to such growth and rapidly people reorganised themselves in their own unique way.
At the end of the day stop a little bit to enjoy the world famous Oporto’s wine at the cellars.

Bruno was a great host and even helped with the luggage! The place was comfy and clean and quite quirky. The location couldn't have been better. Wonderful.

Bruno's place was very eclectic and pretty much exactly as listed. The place is very unique and it's a nice large space. Communication and check in were a breeze. And the neighborhood was calm and quiet. The only area that could use some improvement was the comfort/quality of the bed + pillows, as well as the towels (which were stiff and didn't seem quite so fresh). But overall good stay and we would recommend Bruno's place to anyone who is interested.

Loved our stay in porto. Bruno's house is characteristic and charismatic. It felt a bit as if it was the decor of a Wes Andersson movie, fantastic. Location is good, quiet street in Nice residential neighbourhood. Reccomend it!

I was born and raised in Oporto, know all its nooks and cranny, all but the bottom of the sea! I know many people in this city which sometimes makes me feel like i live in a little village, the town’s magic and the energy of the people converge to create this charisma and comfort. I love to see new places but I confess that this city always makes me longing .
I am a performing arts and visual artist, since my tender 18 years of age who i’ve been participating in the cultural scene of the city, starting my interventions in school, then on the streets and now at work. I studied film, photography, but I ended up wrapped in the performing arts. I am a set designer by profession and image is my main way of communicating, I think that associated with memories is always a good image. Maybe thats why I like to create very good "memories" .
I love to travel because I believe that experience is the best way to grow and learn. The energy that moves me is provided by challenges. I'm simple but ambitious.
