Thank you for your detailed review. We are always striving to make our Airbnb experience better for every guest that visits and are sorry to read that something at our cottage fell short of your expectations.
Thank goodness that you are the first...and only Airbnb guest in more than three years of hosting, to have had any issue while staying here!
Regarding the expired date on the yogurts at breakfast; we apologize profusely for that and certainly won't make the mistake of trusting a grocery store to monitor its products, ever again! Had you brought it to our attention at the time, we would have gladly given you something else to eat as a replacement.
The rest of the unfavorable remarks leave us quite confused though.
In the description of our lakeside cottage on our Airbnb page we mention both the well and septic system.
This guest writes that they understand "typical well water", and then complain about spots on utensils & dinnerware!
It is true, that we do not always get to wipe every individual item down after it is washed and put in the drain board; especially with multiple Airbnb guests in the house using the kitchen at any given time of the day.
We are not a high-end restaurant or hotel with a cleaning staff, but a small cottage, that is our home - on a beautiful little lake!
We have very high standards for our guest rooms and keep a very clean (if sometimes water spotted) kitchen.
Perhaps, if this kind of thing is important enough to write about in your review, a nice hotel chain room, with each glass in it's own wrapper, would be a better choice?
The other issue listed is just plain incorrect.
This guest stated there were multiple stains on a (professionally cleaned) antique comforter; and then wrote that the sheets "seemed clean"!
While changing the bed linen (which is, of course, done for every new guest) the morning of arrival, I did notice that a bit of the batting in the beautiful hand-made & beaded summer quilt had shifted some, causing some of the areas to be a bit thicker than others, but thought nothing more of it, as the quilt is so beautiful it could be hanging on the wall as art!
Maybe the thicker and thinner areas of batting were somehow mistaken for stains?
We can assure you though, had you taken the time to examine this beautiful piece, including the pure white backing side of this quilt, you would have realized your mistake about it being stained or dirty.
Good luck in your future travels!
