About this listing

This description was automatically translated from French using Google Translate and may not be completely accurate.

It is a pretty traditional Auvergne house, with its large slabs and volcanic stone staircase. It accommodates 4 people. In its green and quiet, you will be warmly welcomed. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. At the gates of the Parc des Volcans, on the first foothills of the Puys chain, near a crater lake, or Riom, a remarkable medieval town. Glass workshop on site and hiking from the gite.

The space

The lodging was originally the lodging of a farm vigneronne of XIXème.
We have restored it with the utmost respect and carefully decorated with selected furniture and paintings of artist friends.
Upstairs, two bedrooms, one spacious, with a double bed in 160, opens onto a beautiful terrace overlooking the plain of Limagne and the Forez massif.
The other is equipped with two separate beds or assembled.
The ground floor consists of a stay oriented towards the garden and the courtyard, a large kitchen very well equipped, the bathroom and a cloakroom.
Wifi, TV, DVD, games for children.

Guest access

The garden is at your disposal. Fruit trees, botanical roses, small gardens of flowers, aromatic plants and vegetable cultivation, you will taste, according to the seasons, to the gifts of nature.
Barbecue, ping-pong, siesta or reading, the garden offers you a large space for relaxation or rest.
A "secret passage" cut in the hedge gives access to the playground of the communal field.
Marked hikes from the gite.

Interaction with guests

We will be pleased to inform you the sites and activities to discover according to your affinities. We provide guides, maps of the region.
And if you wish, we will share our passion for gardens, and you will visit the adjoining glassworks.

Other things to note

We accept pets upon prior request.
Heating is not included in the price; It is modulated according to the cold (from 20 to 50 euros per week)

Dominique was already waiting for us when we arrived, showed us the house and the lovely (very big) garden and made us feel very welcome. We were immediately in relax-mode. We stayed for almost 2 weeks (2 adults and a 1 year old). The house and garden are very child-friendly. Our boy loved picking the wild strawberries. Everything was clean, quiet and well organised. We had a lot of privacy but also the possibility to talk to Dominique and Yves at any time; for tips about hikes and sightseeing in the area or for a nice conversation over a glass of red wine. The area is beautiful. You can visit the vulcanos within 30 minute drive (even a crater lake at just 10 minutes from the house). Yves is a great artist with glass. He invited us to come look at his workplace (next to the house) and explained about his work. This was very interesting and his work is beautiful. In summary, we had a great holliday. This place has everything and you will make new friends in Dominique and Yves!

We stayed for 6 nights at Dominique's place and we loved it! The flat is beautiful and very clean and the surroundings are perfect for those who want to enjoy the French countryside. Dominique is the perfect host and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. We will definitely be back some day as 5 days are not enough to enjoy and explore the surroundings. Recommend this place!

We felt very welcome. Dominique and Yves are excellent hosts. Communication is no problem, they speak, French, English and even a little Dutch. Dominique had bread and eggs when we arrived. We were allowed to pick anything from the garden. There were two large cherry trees and the cherries were delicious! Yves showed us his workshop and his beautiful glass objects. He is a fine artist. The gîte is well equipped and nicely furnished and the bed is excellent. We are looking back on a very pleasant week at the gîte in Teilhède. Thank you Dominique and Yves we hope to see you again.

Fantastic place. Wonderful, helpful hosts. Quiet old village. Everything was as expected and photos do not do the house justice. Great kitchen with fresh items in the garden. Great towns with supplies, cafes, shops and hiking nearby. Awesome place to escape to. Good value.

A spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated gîte. Dominique & Yves are wonderful hosts with great travel tips for the local area and further afield. Two nights was not long enough at this delightful location. Thanks!
