House Rules

We are pretty relaxed and clean at our apartment. There is no smoking inside, but you can smoke on the balcony attached to your bedroom whenever you please- just be sure not to flick your cigarette off the balcony, you may use the ash tray bucket.

For security and peace of mind in our home, we don't allow any additional guests or visitors inside the apartment, only those listed or discussed prior to your arrival.

In general we prefer if it you remove your shoes inside the apartment and keep your shoes inside your room. We typically wear socks or slippers inside the house to keep the floors clean.

Please leave the bathroom door open when you are done using it so it is clear that the bathroom is free. If the door is closed, we will assume someone is in there. Also please let the bathroom fan run for 15 minutes after taking a shower to air out the bathroom.

If you are using the space heater, make sure you turn it off before you leave the apartment.

Try to keep volume down between midnight-9am.

You are more than welcome to use the kitchen and cook food, we just ask that you do your dishes and clean up after yourself. Any food you may have been keeping in the fridge or the kitchen, you can take with you when you check out.

Upstairs is not part of the public airbnb space, it is an attached penthouse studio with its own entrance which we also rent and Airbnb on occasion.

We want to respect our neighbors and maintain a peaceful environment in our building so please refrain from any loud yelling, screaming, or physical fighting in the building. If you are having a dispute in person or on the phone, please leave the building and work it out somewhere else, so we don't jeopardize our ability to continue to airbnb the place.

I had a really nice stay at Chris’ apartment. The location is good both for exploring the surrounding Williamsburg neighbourhood and taking a train to Manhattan. Chris’ instructions for getting there and checking in were totally sufficient, so I had no problems using the lockbox. The place was just what I had expected – clean, comfortable (bed!) and decorated with a good sense of style. Although I met Chris and his flatmate Chris only couple of times, they were very nice, friendly and easy-going. Would love to stay there again…

Chris's apartment is exactly as advertised. The apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is in a great location in Brooklyn. There are fun places to get a drink or coffee, and I felt safe as a women traveling alone in the early hours of the morning walking back to the apartment. He and his roommate also named Chris, were friendly and nice to speak with when we crossed paths. I would highly recommend staying at Chris's place and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks Chris!

It was my first time staying in a room rather than a full apartment and I was very happy with the experience. Chris was welcoming, the apartment was beautifully decorated, super clean and the room was very comfortable and quiet. It is in a nice safe area, walking distance from the subway. I was very pleased with the communication and accommodations.

Chris' Airbnb is great - fantastic location, beautifully appointed - often with furniture made by Chris, spacious and extremely clean. Chris is also a really nice guy who has great local knowledge about places to eat, drink and generally check out.

Chris C. and Chris S. were incredibly friendly and helpful hosts! Starting from Chris C. helping me with my luggage during my arrival to tips on the area and random conversations, having them has surely elevated my first trip to NYC and the States itself. The photos on the apartment were accurate. The place was generally clean, well-equipped kitchen and the like. The projector TV was a cool feature, too! Chris C. made quite a few of the furniture in the apartment himself which added the edgy + cosy factor, since he is available most of the time if you want to know more about the designs. The apartment is als(URL HIDDEN)min walk from the L train which takes you directly to Midtown. Did not explore Williamsburg in its entirety, but there's plenty of food! There's everything from the comfort western to Vietnamese to Chinese take-outs - worth going for. So it's a great place for anyone of you out there who wants to explore Manhattan but have a place that is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, and also your own privacy without losing the warmth of staying with a local. I'll definitely be back, and probably will consider the loft the next time I'm in the city! ;)
