Well positioned, close to the main square and its markets. Good wifi as was the shower. Could really do with at least two big bath towels to save fights. Bed was rather saggy. Good communication with the hosts.

Alex and Pipa could not have been nicer. They were welcoming and helpful with information about the town. The wine shop they run on the ground floor only adds to the visit. The flat is well located, although the street and some of the neighbors can be a bit noisy. All in all, I felt at home and had a very nice stay in Carcassonne.

Absolutely loved the apartment and Pipa made us very welcome when we arrived. Very central to Carcassonne, Pipa gave us lots of tips and recommendations. The wine divine - excellent hosts- thank you.

We parked (free) on the edge of town by the river and walked to Rue Barbes, finding the building easily by the wine shop below. We had been well prepared by Alex and were given a warm welcome by his daughter, Gabriella, who could not have been more hospitable and helpful-it was made easier for us because it turned out the family was originally from England. The apartment was in a pretty, old traditional building and up a typical steep staircase. It was precisely as advertised and if anything bigger than expected. It had nice comfortable period furniture and had a comforting, peaceful feel to it despite being on a fairly busy one-way street. The apartment was right in the 'ville basse' (the pretty, slightly more modern part), near Place Carnot and shops and restaurants (there was a lovely restaurant round the corner, Le Cathare) and the ancient 'Cite' was about 20 minutes walk. We altogether enjoyed our stay in this convenient and very pleasant apartment and beautiful and fascinating town.

Married to Alexander with six children. We have lived in France for 13 years and appreciate having the chance to introduce people to the best of France, making you welcome and sharing a more laid back lifestyle, wonderful food and wines from the region. Carcassonne is such a romantic place to visit, and really unspoilt, a genuine French town with lots of character and characters. The region is one of the best in France for cycling and Alexander certainly can't live here without going out on his racing bike on yet another, apparently, amazing route at least twice a week.
All our guests are welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and as we have a boutique wine shop on the ground floor of the building. All are welcome to come and taste and discover the local wines with us. We also organise private wine tours to some of the leading producers in the region and host food and wine dinners. Just ask us for details.
