Roxanne's place was great! It was quiet and private. Perfect for a relaxing weekend away from home. It was nice having the hot tub to soak in! No complaints here. FYI, even though there's no phone, cable or internet it wasn't an issue for us, we didn't miss it. Cellular phone and data service was great at the house when we needed it.

This cabin is located on a quiet gravel road in a wooded setting. There are a few other houses on the road but it feels very private and peaceful. There is a great view over the river. There was plenty of room for our group of three adults (one couple) and two dogs. It is great that each of the two bedrooms has its own full bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped and the owner also provides a large selection of books, games (mostly old children's board games) and DVDs. Although the cabin is in a rural setting, it is a short drive to Saugatuck and Douglas, both of which are worth a visit. We also went canoeing in the Kalamazoo river, used the hot tub, and the fire pit. There's plenty to do! The only negative is the mosquitoes, but that is inevitable at this time of year.

Cannot say enough about how wonderful this stay was! Perfect space, beautiful views, spacious kitchen, and hot tub to boot. Thanks, Roxanne, for being so communicative and making everything simple. It was a fabulous New Year's weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend at Harmony River House! Went with my boyfriend, our dog, and another couple. The space was perfect for us. Loved having both bedrooms and bathrooms. They were in good shape - nothing fancy, but very comfortable and well-maintained. Plenty of space to spread out, even if we'd had more people/kids with us. We had a rainy, cool day, but the fireplace was perfect for staying warm and setting the mood for a cozy afternoon. There was plenty of wood stocked in the woodpile, and we enjoyed the dart board and other games available. We got to use the outdoor hot tub in the evening, and were very happy for such a treat! Be very careful on the stairs/path down to the river! It's a bit treacherous, especially if it has been a rainy/damp couple of days. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time and would definitely go back! (I highly recommend a restaurant in town: Salt of the Earth. We had one of the best meals there. Also recommend Virtue Cider for a delicious and relaxed cider tasting.)

Roxanne was great. Responsive and communicative. The place was very clean and great for a weekend get away. The pictures do depict the home to be larger that it actually is, but still very cute. The location IS secluded and deep in nature which is nice depending on what you aim to do. We did have one technical issue with one of the bed's that Roxanne addressed very quickly. 15-20 min driving from Saugatuck.

The house is very nice - almost exactly how the host describes. A few notes: - When they tell you to avoid coming to the place at night because it is hard to find, they mean it! It is located a tad off the beaten path and your phone GPS does not drop the pin in the right location (close, but not exactly right), so daylight is helpful. - The 2nd bedroom is more a guest house/room attached to the home. It has a separate entrance from the rest of the home, and separate key/lock for the door. This may or may not be important for future renters. - Description says 10 minutes to Sagatuck/Douglas - I'd say more like 15-20 once you know your way around. Not a huge deal, and fairly easy to make it there, just a few winding back roads. Other reviews on other sites said that the place was closer to Grand Rapids and Holland than they thought - we never ventured that far, but good to know - The host was very accommodating and responsive to our questions pre-arrival and the place was clean. We came up as a couple and our dog just wanted to get away from Chicago for a few days - so we didn't use the 2nd bedroom or outdoor/screened accommodations much, but could definitely see 4-6 people having a nice time up there with everything the place has to offer. We didn't use the outdoor things (other than the hot tub) very much as it was a chilly weekend, but there is plenty of things to do in/outside of the home for those who desire it - board games, dvds, foosball, ping pong, horseshoes, canoe, etc.
