The space

Amazing 35m2 (400 sq ft.) apartment in the heart of Paris: Rue MONTORGUEIL. Designer decorated and renovated, with state-of-the art appliances

In the bedroom: real bed 140cm and 2 night stands.
In the bathroom: washing machine, dryer.

So, you think you know Paris? There are hundreds of memorable streets and boulevards in the City of Light. It is compact, only 3 blocks long, with a Metro stop on each end. In between you have dozens of the kinds of places that symbolize Parisian culture: cafes, high end restaurants, cheese shops, chocolate shops, wine stores, patisseries, a couple of neighborhood type groceries, all topped with classic Parisian apartment buildings. And, what makes it even more unique, it is a pedestrian-only street. In fact, this street is just off Les Halles, where the heartbeat of Paris was once found in the colorful and vibrant market district. The old Les Halles is now gone, moved to the suburbs. But, there are a few places where the old self-contained neighborhoods still exist, and Rue Montorgueil is the finest example. You won't see many tourists with cameras here. Most are a few blocks away at the Pompidou Center or a short metro ride away at the Louvre or Notre Dame. What you will find is Stohers, the oldest Patisserie in France, where baba au rhum was first made, and eclairs that are world famous. And, this is just one of many gourmet surprises. Just spent a week in the apartment on this street, and fell in love with Paris all over again.

The Rue Montorgueil neighborhood is a small section of the Châtelet-Les Halles district, located at the city center. North of Rue Montorgueil is the area known as the Grands Boulevards; directly south is the Saint-Eustache Cathedral and Les Halles.

We had 4 nights here in August and couldn't fault a thing. It is a perfect location, the building has an elevator and the apartment is equipped with everything you need and has a comfortable bed. We hired a car on our last evening here and Astrid organised for us to park in the underground car park which made things so much easier for us. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again, we would highly recommend this apartment :-)

Great place! Very central apartment in the centre of Paris. Very well-equipped place. Astrid has thought of everything to allow us to make this our base for over a week in Paris. Will come back again on our next visit!

We loved our stay in Astrid's apartment. Her communication was great and the handbook for the apartment answered any questions we may have had. The apartment was in a great central location and located next to a great street with lots of shops and cafes. You can tell it's a very popular place for locals and that's exactly what we wanted. The apartment was perfect for us and had all the amenities we wanted. The ONLY warning I would give is that sound seems to travel easily through the walls and a few times, even though we were just talking at normal volumes, the neighbors warned us with a pounding on the wall. I don't know if this is normal for apartment living in Paris but it felt strange to need to whisper while in our own apartment. This wasn't a huge deal since we spent the majority of the time outside of the apartment but if you are night owls or talk loudly then I would not recommend staying here. Otherwise, we highly recommend Astrid's apartment and would definitely stay here again when we come back to Paris.

We loved Astrids apartment. Lovely secure building right off of a great street with many shops and restaurants. Near the center of Paris, but with a neighborhood feel. The place was well designed and clean. The kitchen well equipped and new. We were only able to stay a couple of nights before there was a plumbing leak in the building which forced us to find other arrangements. Both Astrid and Airbnb responded were prompt and responsive in helping us deal with the situation. We were sad to leave, but it was an emergency situation. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Our stay at Astrid's apartment was excellent. We had ample room and were right in the heart of Rue Motorguell, which a very fun and happening place.

I guess the best aspect about this apartment is its location ... quiet inside the apartment and oblivious to when you step outside "to a totally different world" ... throbbing with life, excitement and Parisien life. Cafe's and restaurants within walking distance to cover every and anyone's taste buds and budgets. Astrid was a perfect host who catered for our every needs and requests. We are an older couple and we found her respectful patience in our communication was clearly evident. One suggestion(for elderly couples); if arriving via rail ... use the lifts within the Les Halles station to get out to Rue Montorgrueil exit to avoid having to tackle non-working up escalators(during off peak hours) and a nasty final set of 3 flight of steps via Astrid's route. Definitely recommend this accommodation if visiting Paris for a few days. Thanks again to Astrid for making our stay most enjoyable ... G 'n L

Astrids Place is in a convenient location, offering many bistros, restaurants and grocery stores close by. We were able to walk to many attractions, including The Louvre, Notre Dame, and Georges Pompidou Centre. The amenities are accurately portrayed on the AirBNB site; and it offers all the kitchen equipment necessary. A word of warning the washer does not offer a cold water option. All in all it was very nice accommodation, and allowed us to enjoy our stay in Paris.
