If you are looking for a quiet, out-of-the-way romantic get away, then this is the place for you. Very cute cottage, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and kitchen. It is a very small, historic town that has a deli and bakery, but no restaurants, gas station or call service. The negatives for us was no TV and no wifi ( I think it bleeds in from next door). The sulfur smell in the water is very strong, I didn't want to wash my hair in it. It was a 23 mile drive to get gas and find a restaurant for dinner in Petaluma.

The cottage is lovely, full of lots of extra, thoughtful amenities. Donna was extremely responsive in setting up our stay but it was her charming husband who made the experience extra special for us. He provided us with his own knife for shucking oysters, a bucket for shells, a headlamp for night kayaking (our oversight), and fascinating historical & local lore. We can't wait to go back to the Marinette cottage.

Donna's cottage is cozy but very cute and about three houses down from downtown Tomales, including the Tomales Bakery, which serves delicious baked goods all day long! The cottage was clean and we found everything as expected. My only suggestion would be bring some bottled water as the tap water both smells and tastes of sulphur. Other than the stay was great! The bed was comfortable. Donna set up a nice extra bed for our third guest. And the spot was very sweet!
