The ELM House is a large barn house built in 2016 with two listings: ELM House EAST and ELM House WEST. Both situated 30 feet apart on the second floor entirely for Airbnb guests with access to a kitchenette. Each has a large attractive bathroom. All rooms enjoy a beautiful view of the rolling farmland. The guests can enjoy farm walks or hike on the 220 acres of beef cattle farm. The horses enjoy a chat at the barn. The host occupies the first floor. Bourbon distilleries are 20 minutes away.

The space
The Elm House is a green barn-house built in 2016 by the host and Amish people. Old poplar rafters, doors, and a staircase from 1880 were reused, creating a rustic and very spacy interior.
Guests will use the main entrance and enter a large lounge. The 1880 staircase takes guests to the second floor, entirely for guests. From the catwalk, there's a unique view over the great room. Your room has a large bathroom, a refrigerator with a small freezer, a coffee maker, and WiFi. Your room can be locked from inside, but not from outside. The bedroom has a comfortable Amish Cherry bed. The cabinetry and small furniture are made by the host from the Red Elm outside. A kitchenette is available and small meals can be prepared using a microwave. Old doors and barn wood is used for cabinetry and furniture in this room. There's a farm map available to help guests find directions on the farm for walks or hiking. The farm is nestled in a gently rolling landscape with a creek at the southern border. Hiking through the half-mile-long creek is a good exercise. The cattle are friendly and used to people.

The ELM House is situated on 220 acres of Beef cattle farm including a horse facility. The guests will enjoy a lot of space in a beautiful setting and can hike on the farm. There's a large pond to watch birds, not good for fishing! and a creek at the bottom of the farm.
This is also "Bourbon" country with a 20-30 minutes drive to several distilleries.
The Bluegrass Parkway is conveniently 10 minutes away with fast access to Lexington, Louisville, or Bardstown.

Born in Denmark. Traveled and worked in Europe and the Far East - as a Dairy Scientist and consultant. Have lived in the US since 1996 and became a farmer. Raised beef cattle for 10 years. Presently enjoying the Kentucky farm, the nature and my horses. Other hobbies are wood working. Built The ELM House in 2016 according to my own drawings. Three great Amish people built the house, which is a green building with a large solar array. It contains rafters, doors, and a staircase from a previous 1860 Farm house that I renovated. A 200 years old Red Elm tree, that had just died when we broke ground, was cut and and cured and used for cabinetry and partly for flooring inside the house.
