We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sandra's roomy apartment. It is in a good location, close to a new supermarket and to the town. Sandra kindly picked us up at the station and explained the apartment to us. Cascais is beautiful, and there was a fantastic luminary festival when we were there. The apartment deck is a great place for breakfast, too. Obrigada, Sandra!
Great apartment for the money really spacious and light and lunch and evening drinks on the terrace an added bonus. Sandra is a fantastic host she picked us up from the station and took us on a quick tour of Cascais to get our bearings. She also sorted out a key problem really quickly. Given other reviews I thought bathroom would be a lot worse, it's perfectly ok for a few days and very clean. Suggestions for improvement maybe some better pillows and 2 more sun beds on the terrace. Other than that perfect for friends sharing or family break.
Sandra is a lovely and warm woman. She waited for us at the train station and drove us around cascais. After that she brought us to the apartment. The apartment is really big enough and has all the facilities. The terrace on the roof has a very nice view. The only thing that is a bit outdated is the bathroom. I certainly would recommend this apartment for a pleasant stay in Cascais.
Sandra was extremely helpful picking us up from the airport and giving us a little tour of the town. The apartment is beautifully spacious and comfortable although be prepared for wind on the terrace! It is only 10 minutes walk from the centre but feels like a real neighbourhood with supermarket nearby, but not urban - there is a herd of goats and sheep in the small valley below the apartment! A great place to stay.
Sandra was very welcoming and gave us some key information that was useful for our stay including the local shops, bike use and market information which she pointed out on the map she provided. The area was very nice in terms of neighbourhood and we were able to walk easily into town and back (7 mins). The apartment was clean and well maintained with a good stock of relevant items for a comfortable stay.
This is my review about Sea and Mountain Terrace View in Cascais. I am a Dutch woman, aged 70 years, I am living right in the touristic center of Amsterdam. We (my Irish friend Kate - 64 years of age and I) had great expectations about this place and indeed it showed to be a wonderful house - great view over Cascais and the ocean - in a very quiet and friendly neighbourhood - Lidl next door, easy shopping. To get to Cascais from the Airport with our suitcases turned out to be a little difficult. The tourist information on the airport told us to take the metro first and then the train (from Cais de Sodre). It would have been better to take a taxi to the trainstation - or a bus. At arrival in Cascais with heavy luggage, it's also wise to take a taxi to the house (7 E) The house has a very cosy atmosphere. In the beginning we had problems to find out about the wifi- connection, but Sandra did help us out. Sandra is very friendly and adequate in communication. Cascais has a wonderful beach and boulevard - wich I loved especialy in twilight (dinnertime) when all the lights and stars appear. Excellent weather during the first weeks of september. Sitra (world heritage) is 40 minutes by bus. The Portugese have almost the same system for public transportation as we do in Holland: by a card and put some money on it (we did 15 E for 2 weeks) and there you go: one card for train - metro - tram (Lisbon) - ferry (Lisbon to the other bank of the Taag) another card for al the busses !! It means you can go easily up and down to Lisbon or where-ever you want to go. We made some daytrips too, it turned out you can make the booking also through the Baja-hotel and using their pick up service. Sure I hope to come back one day to Cascais and to this place. Thank you Sandra, we have had a wonderful time ! Ida van Heteren
