Comfortable, relaxing, modern rooms with character & style overlooking Otago harbour with dramatic sea views. 20 Acre private property with Spa Hot-Tub/Beach below the house/Beautiful Gardens with birds all here for our guests to enjoy. Fantastic cooked or continental breakfast & coffee included. Visit our horses and sheep on our hillside paradise. Only 30 min from Dunedin, 15 min from Port Chalmers and 5 Min from Aramoana beach. A great base to unwind after exploring the stunning surroundings.

The space
We have quality linens and soft pillows on a very comfortable super king size double bed.
Our recently built rooms have been designed with care and attention for guests to relax and enjoy great views from large windows. The traditional timber framed building has high ceilings and the modern bathroom fittings include a large powerful shower.
There is a shared living room with TV and breakfast room.

The bed in this room can be twin singles on request for stays of more than 3 nights.

Guest access
All guests have access to a shared guest sitting room with TV and a dining table next to the rooms. Fridge and coffee making facilities
Extensive gardens with private sitting areas.
Walk around our small farm and visit our sheep and horses.
Guests have the use of the spa with views over the lawn to the harbour.

You can be private or mix in with the family, as you feel comfortable.

We are here to help you enjoy your experience in our favorite place. Sally is a local artist and Kerry is a University professor. With a deep understanding of the area and what makes it so special, we can suggest great walks / sightseeing and things to do locally.

This part of New Zealand has a rich history and beautiful costal countryside with great wildlife.
Many local attractions in pretty Port Chalmers 15 minutes away and just 20 minutes from Dunedin for concerts, events, galleries, street art, shopping, great food and fun times.
Aramoana beach is a 5 minute drive or a very pleasent walk.
From Port Chalmers you can catch a ferry to Portobello.
The properties are large here ( Tayler Point is 20 Acres) so there are only green hills and sea views surrounding us. The changing light and starry nights are very special.

My style of hosting is friendly, relaxed and helpful. I am a visual artist and my husband is a Otago university professor. We enjoy our local beach, the outdoors, fishing in the harbour and sailing, travel, and meeting people. My husband is from England and I am a New Zealander, we met in Dunedin 35 years ago and have returned to enjoy our favourite place after raising our family in the UK. We have lived in America, Scandinavia and also run an artist retreat in Tuscany, Italy. We grow our own garden produce, raise grass fed lamb and look after the hens for your breakfast eggs.
