This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Our one room studio cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Drift off to sleep with the sound of the river and wake to the sound of birds. The beautiful Baton River flows past your window and the outdoor enclosed shower completes the experience of being immersed in the natural world.
The cottage is situated on our small sheep farm , tucked away in a private location. We are right along side the newest section of the Great Taste Cycle trail. Read below for more info.

The space
River island Cottage is located thirty minutes from Motueka and one hour from Nelson. There is easy access to our three great national Parks including the world renowned Able Tasman Park.

Please note that there is a composting "long drop" toilet.
Wifi and wifi mobile calling available at the cottage.

We are right along side the new Baton Valley section of the Great Taste Cycle Trail . We may be able to arrange to so some shopping for supplies for cyclists.

Guest access
Guests can access the two rivers that surround the farm and can walk around the farm and the hills.

Other things to note
Unfortunately, the cottage is not available to fishing guests during January, Feburary and March
Our valley offers opportunities for hiking, swimming , cycling . The cottage offers a " get away from it " experience.

I live with my husband Alistair live in a beautiful valley an hours drive from Nelson (NZ) on a small sheep farm. Our river Cottage offers guests a chance to experience our rivers and our unique NZ rural life. Alistair loves fishing and planting trees and Carol loves biking and riding horses
