The place is great, the pictures don't do it justice. If you want a beautiful home base out in the countryside. This is your place. Ian was fantastic. We had a bit of a problem with the hot water heater and the central heating (so we got a polar bear shower on day) but once we let Ian know he was on top of it. The one thing I will warn Americans visiting is the central heating and hot water heater is very different than you are use to. He has them on a switch and a timer, meaning you need to plan ahead for showers. So if you are an early riser that jumps right into the shower to start your day, slow down. Go downstairs turn on the timers and switches, put in a pot for tea and enjoy the scenery. Once your done with Your tea the water will be hot and your day will be ready for its second gear.

Response from Julie Fiona:
Thanks for the review and for choosing The Honeyholm The heating and water can be set to come on in the morning meaning you should have a shower anytime. The third shower is electric which again can be used anytime. Sorry for this issue and thanks for leaving the place nice and tidy Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip Regards Ian

The cottage is perfect for a family get away, close enough to all the main attractions while giving a remote rural feel to your stay. Iain is so helpful and has lots of local knowledge. There are great pubs and places to eat but if you prefer to cook for yourselves there is everything you could need. The views are wonderful.

The Cottage is amazing. Set in a very quiet road in the middle of the countryside with idyllic views of the hills and local area. Well equipped and modern the cottage was still close enough to all amenities required. Would recommend to anyone.

Recommended for families who want a quiet living in the countryside. The views from the house are amazing. The garden is good size for football or any other sport activity.

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. We were welcomed by Julie and her family with a plate of home made scones and tons of maps and suggestions of fun things to do in the area. The house was very comfortable. With a family of 6 we really appreciated the number of bathrooms, bedrooms and the large comfortable family room where we could hang out together at night. This has been one of our favorite stays in all of our airbnb experiences!

Wonderful cottage and extremely friendly and pleasant hosts. Great location - super quiet country setting yet close to Loch Lomond and the pretty city of Sterling. We slept (too long) in really comfortable beds, had homemade scones for breakfast and then even the sun came out for our walks. Our son was excited about all the books and games, the trampoline and - last but not least - the tire swing. Highly recommended.
