Our beautiful open-plan house in a quiet Hove Street is just 5 mins on foot from the beach, 10 mins by bus to Brighton with on-street parking available. A charming double room overlooking the garden & next to the bathroom. Desk, reading chair, wifi

The space

1930's house with contemporary conversion, creating a stunning open plan kitchen/diner/lunch looking onto the garden. Depending on the weather you can enjoy a simple breakfast (choice of cereals, toast, jams etc, orange juice, tea/coffee) at the breakfast bar or in the garden. The area is famous for a variety of British birds. Artwork is mainly from local artists and photographers.

No need to bring towels as these are included. Every guest that stays claims to have had an amazing nights sleep as the bed and room are so comfortable.

You will have access to free Wifi and a desk in the room. Plenty of wardrobe space and views over the garden.

Access to breakfast area in the morning (or garden if sunny) and obviously bathroom with shower/bath and toilet.

A friendly welcome awaits you...happy to tell you how to get around, best places to eat and whatever else you wish to find out about Brighton to get the most out of your stay.

Hove is just a stones throw from Brighton so all the benefits of being on the door step of the city but without the noise. It's a very friendly neighbourhood with a local shopping road home to Drury's head office & cafe (tea and coffee providers), bakery, delicatessen, flower shop etc. A real locals meeting point. The beach is just 5 minutes down the road and there are three parks with children's playgrounds on our doorstep. Parking is always expensive and a nightmare in Brighton and we have on-street voucher parking right outside our house available for an extra £5.00 a day or free street parking about 10 mins walk away.

The area is brilliantly served by buses heading into Brighton every 5-10 minutes. We are only about 10 minutes away by bus from Brighton. Hove train station with access to London is just a 15 minute walk.

Besides the double room upstairs, we also have a double/twin or triple available downstairs that has a double bed and a single bed so perfect for a group/family. With two rooms available there may be other guests staying whilst you are here. My lovely, very well-behaved 4 year old is likely to be here to welcome you if she is not staying at her father's house.

The house also offers a large additional guest room that can be double/twin/triple - it's a versatile room so if there's a few of you we have the space. With two rooms available there may be other guests staying whilst you are here. My lovely, very well-behaved 6 year old is likely to be here to welcome you if she is not staying at her father's house. We love our house and would just like you to love it like we do. When you come in at night if you could keep the noise down that would be appreciated. Please make sure you close the front door properly as some guests have been known to leave the house and the door was found wide open for anyone to enter! No smoking in the house but we have a garden for that. Please use the bath mat when having a shower and open the window slightly after use.
Please check-in before 10pm

Breakfast will be left out for you so please help yourself to cereal, orange juice, toast etc and tea/coffee. Milk and juice are in the fridge. If possible let me know the night before if you prefer tea or coffee. Toast takes about 2-3 mins depending on your preference, just turn timer and use lever. There’s no problem if you wish to turn up to breakfast in your pjs/ dressing gown etc if you prefer.

No self-catering … kitchen/lounge is only available to guests for breakfast and to come and make tea and coffee.

Please do not use the house address for any personal mail.

Everything was perfect, the communication with Catherine was easy and the room is cosy and clean! She left in the room some notes where she wrote down all what we needed to know about public transport, parking and some goods places for having a beer or dinner around. We felt like home and had a nice breakfast in the morning. I definitely recommend Catherine's house!

Catherine's house is really lovely, very comfy bed and a nice spread for breakfast in the morning. Catherine is very relaxed so the house has a nice feel to it. The house is in walking distance from shops, restaurants and food store so very convenient. Would stay again.

Catherine was the perfect host, communication was great. Location is excellent as it's easy walking distance from Hove station (15 minutes) and very close to bus stops (3-4 minutes) but the best part is the secluded feel. I had a 6am (4am alarm) flight from Scotland so really needed a wee lay down and checked in and had a nap, this was easy to do as the house was nice and quiet, also Catherine had a bottle of water laid out by the bed which was super comfy. Again I had a super early flight leaving so did not take advantage of the breakfast but Catherine left out a big selection of cereals, jams/marmalades and coffee/tea. I would definitely stay at Catherine's lovely home again and would highly recommend to others.

Young at heart 40 something (Ok well I've just turned 50), single with a fun and well-behaved five year old. We enjoy everything that Brighton has to offer...the cultural May festival, walks in the downs, picnics on the beach and when the little one is asleep the nightlife too. Enjoy cooking, entertaining, the arts. I have hosted many foreign language students and travellers and love learning about new cultures. Being from a hospitality background I love welcoming guests and making them feel at home. I've travelled extensively in my time mainly backpacking but luxury too ...favourite cities include Buenos Aires, Barcelona, New York, Penang and Vancouver. I belong to a wine group but we don't take ourselves seriously, learning to Lindyhop, I've run a pop-up restaurant before, enjoy the arts and dining out whenever possible (depending on my finances of course!) Carpe diem!
