Our newly renovated four-bedroom duplex retains all of its brownstone charm, on a landmarked street minutes from Prospect Park and subways. Family-friendly with a giant backyard, multiple skylights, modern kitchen, and Sonos throughout!

The space

Spacious three-bedroom duplex with three full baths, brand new chef's kitchen, backyard, fireplace, and playroom in a three-story landmarked brownstone. The master bedroom has a king-sized Tempurpedic bed, 54" flat screen TV, Blu-Ray DVD player and an en-suite bathroom with a Moroccan tiled double shower under a skylight.

On the same floor there is one large bedroom with a queen-sized bed, two small bedrooms each with a single bed, and a modern bathroom with a large soaking tub and hand shower. There's a large grassy backyard and deck off the kitchen for sunny breakfasts in warmer months. A playroom is fully equipped with toys and art supplies, and an air-mattress can be set up in this room to accommodate up to two more guests.

An office is typically off limits to guests.

Interaction with guests

The upper duplex is private. There is a separate, ground level apartment with its own entrance where a couple live. There is no shared space.

Amir and Jennifer were fantastic hosts - who went above and beyond to accommodate our booking! I came with a group of actors from my theatre company from the UK to NYC, and Amir communicated wonderfully with our producer to ensure that we had a pleasant stay and all of our needs were met in advance. The apartment is a dream - spacious, comfortable, with a gorgeous back yard! It feels like a real home instantly - because it is a real home! The neighborhood is incredible and convenient to all of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Prospect Park are steps away, and so beautiful.

Amir has a beautiful, nice, comfortable house. I stayed for 11 days with my family and a friend of ours and we were amused to find everything needed. The house is really close to various subway stations, so it is really easy to get to the airport, to Manhattan, and to all the others boroughs. Whenever we had problems, Amir and Jannifer always promptly and effectively helped us. Also, they are really kind and did their best to make us feel home even 3000 miles from home! They were really caring and flexible, even when we changed our mind on a couple of things they were really understanding. Being our first AirBnB experience we didn't expect too much, but this trip completely change our mind. I would suggest without a doubt to come here to stay to visit NYC. If we come here again we'll definitely ask Amir and Jennifer again! Cesare

We had a great stay at Amir and Jennifer's house. We stayed here for two weeks while our home, which is close by was under construction. The house is beautiful and in a great neighborhood. Very quiet with lots of restaurants and bars, convenient to public transportation, the Brooklyn museum, the botanical gardens and to Prospect park. We enjoyed grilling outside and eating in the garden. The hosts were very helpful and easy to reach. I would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much guys!

Amir proved to be a great host. Very accommodating, extremely helpful and pleasant. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better host. The house has a warm, lived in appeal. Full of character and rustic appeal, but with well specced updates to bathrooms and kitchens and thoughtful extras, such as Sonos music in key rooms. If you're after clean cut, modern and clinical look elsewhere. Rough around the edges, but in what we felt was an appealing way, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was our first time staying in Brooklyn and while not as painfully "cool" as some parts of Brooklyn, we were surrounded by cafe's, restaurants, boutique shops, culture and diversity etc (If you're a Londoner, reminds me a bit of Ladbroke Grove and parts of Notting Hill). The Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Museum are minutes away on foot, several playgrounds within easy reach, Prospect Park (Great for running) and Prospect Park Zoo again minutes on foot. Ample Hills Ice Cream Parlour on Vanderbilt and Bergen was an almost daily stop, as was Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe on Vanderbilt and Prospect (Superb bagels and great, filling sandwiches). Manhattan and other parts of NY are easily accessible with the Highline being about 30-40 minutes door to door on the subway and Coney island being about 45 minutes on the subway. All in all a great home and Amir is a credit to AirBNB.

We had a wonderful time in Jennifer and Amir's home. Very comfortable, spacious, easy going and with a chef cuisine which is for French people a great plus. Prospect Heights is a borough which suited us perfectly. Full of shops and various restaurants, Saturday organic market (thanks Jennifer and Amir for your good addresses) and close to the 4 metro lines direct to Manhattan. Certainly a great place for families with young children (children play room) and a garden. A place to be recommended. Florence, Gilles and the teen-agers.
