We had a lovely time in this cosy, rustic and cute cottage. The bedroom arrangement (bunks in one room, a single bed in the other room and a small double in the lounge) may not suit everyone but it was perfect for us, as a family with a four-month-old and a toddler. The swing, slide and toys were brilliant for our little girl and the cottage all being in one level and quite small meant it was relaxing to eat outside in the evening knowing we'd hear the little ones and they'd stay safe. We enjoyed a BBQ one evening and used the camping washing machine successfully (though it is time consuming). It was great to have a shower, which I think many cabins like this don't have. The kitchen area was basic but totally fine. We thought it was great value and really enjoyed our time. We also used public transport which was do-able but not always easy! It's possible to do lovely trips by boat to Sandhamn (about 50 min by boat from Stavsnäs Vinterhamn) and especially Gällnö (about 5 - 15 mins by boat from Sollenkroka Brygga!) And although you can get a bus to the respective boats, having a car would make the trips much easier. Getting food supplies is challenging by bus so bring as much as you can if you don't have a car. Using public transport also makes the requirement to bring sheets/pillowcases/duvet covers a bit tricky, though we used disposable bedding bought from Clas Ohlsen which was fine. In terms of buses, note that the 434 line splits so not every bus that leaves Stockholm will take you to the right bus stop (about 3 mins from the cottage). We found the official SL app accurate while the Citymapper app turned out to be unreliable for that particular bus line. We really enjoyed eating at the Thai street food stall (URL HIDDEN) about 20 mins walk away, amazing value for Sweden and also a fish smokery. This was a highlight of the holiday for us. We also loved swimming every day at the many lake and sea beaches, some of which have a box of toys left out for kids to play with - a really nice touch. The closest beach to the cottage was also one of my favourites for swimming. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay as much as we did.
