We had a great time visiting Makrinista. The home owners were easy to reach, very responsive, and arrival and check out were easy. Being nestled on the mountainside, the village and the house bring about a strong nostalgia of village life. Here we found stone walkways, roaming cats & dogs (well-mannered and friendly), a village space under the high branching canopy of 3 enormous trees, and lush vegetation with plants sprouting everywhere, and pomegranate, grape, and blackberry trees growing outside. The village was targeted to the tourist as numerous shops selling souvenirs lined the entrance to the village. The house itself had ample room, overlooked the city of Volos in the distance, and had a patio space where we enjoyed a nice candle-lit dinner. The interior looks older but all amenities work. There were some mosquitos present outside so we needed to wear long-sleeve clothing. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience to visit the town of Makrinista. We would recommend arriving during the sunlight hours due to the mountain driving needed.

Beautiful views, the house is very authentic, Makrinitsa is a awesome village, with great restaraunts we had a good time. Also, on weekends you'll be able to hear live Greek music. Don't depend on the bus we waited a few times it never showed up so rent a car or get a cab.

Hello, The house of marina is really very beautiful and large with a stunning view from the large stone terrace and the rooms . A little far from the parking( around 15 mn walk on a hard path going up and down) and the stairs in the house are a little dangerous (abrupte, steep) We had a wonderful time in the heart of a magnificent village on mount pelion.

We stayed in Marina's house with our three adult children and the partners of our two sons, 7 people in all. We were welcomed by Eleni, the housekeeper, who does not speak English but managed to show us around in the house and to make clear to us whatever we needed to know. She is a sweet person. The house is picturesque, comfortable, and we could not get enough of the ashtonishing view of mountains, forests, the city Volos and the bay. The atmosphere of the view changes with the change of the hour: our days ended with dinner on the patio witnessing incredible sunsets! The village is as romantic and beautiful as the house, and so are the mountains, the other villages, and the beaches, both those on the bay and those on the Eagean coast, where you get after a one-and-a-half hour ride over winding roads, an enjoyable and impressive drive to the other side of Mt. Pelion. Our 7 days in Mikrinitsa were an unforgettable experience, and I certainly recommend Marina's house as a fantastic place to have a family holiday. Thanks to Marina and Eleni!

We were met at the main square in Makrinitsa and were made very welcome by the locally based housekeeper, Mrs Eleni, who walked with us to the house. We were also on email communication with Marina who responded very quickly to any questions/concerns we had. The house itself is charming and very interesting architecturally. It has a great yard/veranda overlooking Volos and the bay. We very much enjoyed sitting there during the morning and then again in the evening although at times the noise from the house next door made it less peaceful that we had expected. The house is very well equipped and we were comfortable. Makrinitsa is a peaceful and beautiful village with some good places to eat and drink and enjoy the shady trees and great views. There are lots of lovely paved footpaths to explore - traffic is not allowed in the village - and although getting our suitcases to the house from the car park was non-trivial it was well worth the effort. During our five days there we visited many of the very beautiful beaches on the Agean coast of Pelion which, although is around 50 km from Makrinitsa, is very pretty and the driving there is very enjoyable. In all we very much enjoyed our trip to Makrinitsa and appreciated the hospitality of Marina and particularly Mrs Eleni who gave us a delicious homemade jar of the local sweet "karydaki" as a goodbye gift. Thank you!

Pelio/Pilio was a beautiful place to spend a few days away from the traditional tourist areas in Greece. The old stone home was rustic, but comfortable and as breathtaking as the pictures. However, Makrinitsa is not the place for folks with mobility issues - the hills are very steep and the rocky paths can be difficult to maneuver. Marina and the housekeeper Mrs. Eleni are very welcoming! Marina did a fabulous job communicating with us pre-arrival. We would highly recommend staying here for a bit of R&R!

This house is in a beautiful location overlooking the coast. Marina wasn't there but it was very easy to sort out being let in and shown around. There were four of us in the house and we really enjoyed it. Makrinitsa is a beautiful little village about 20 minutes outside Volos (don't follow the GPS though!). As the village is all pedestrianised, alot of it with stones/pebbles make sure when travelling to the house you are in the right shoes!
