Beautiful, quiet spot for a getaway from the bustling city of Bangkok. Mark was extremely prompt and helpful with directions and transport details. I love the concept of the hotel - being close to nature. However I was a bit jaded by the cleanliness of the surrounding waters as it made it seem like the environment wasn't really cared for, which made it hard to enjoy the view. Decided not to sunbathe or stargaze on the outdoor bed as it didn't seem like it has been cleaned before our check in which was unfortunate as I really looked forward to it, as my decision to book the hotel was based on that. Nevertheless, the sunset and sunrise at the hotel was stunning, and the architecture was very beautifully accented by the surrounding greenery.

How do I even begin? This is a pretty magical place. For once, the photos actually undersell the place or don't do it justice! There are mirrors everywhere, reflecting the natural scenery back at you. Even in the dining area (which consists of both a patio and an AC area), the tables are mirrors and reflect the trees that surround you. Everything is incredibly modern, minimalist, and clean. They've really set up the space to feel as private or social as you'd like. There's free ice cream (more like a sorbet) and water in a communal kitchen area, and bikes you can use. At night, the firefly tour is pretty meaningful--take a ride in a boat up the river to find clouds of fireflies pulsating in the trees. In terms of getting there, I took an Uber to the pier and then the public ferry. It was fairly convenient and it was a short walk from there to the treehouse. (The staff gave me a motorbike ride on the way out, the staff is so nice)! Really just a dreamy place, wish I could've stayed longer!

We did not personally meet Mark, but the staff was very friendly. However, we had great email communication leading up to our stay to ensure our arrival was smooth. We opted to have an airport transfer to the location and are extremely happy we did. If you're not familiar with the area, the place would be difficult to find. Once we knew how to get there, we traveled by ferry, taxi and the rail system all over Bangkok at ease. We really enjoyed using the bicycles to explore nearby sights early in the morning. We are happy we had a few days in Bangkok to enjoy this unique experience.

Great communication by email and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) messages prior to my arrival to make sure that everything was smooth. I did not personally meet Daniel or Mark as the place is run more like a hotel than a guesthouse, but the staff that welcomed us was very friendly, helpful with any inquiries we had and gave us great attention to make sure our stay was pleasant. Check-in is normally at 2pm, but we arrived at 12noon. We had lunch at the Tree House and by the time we were done, our room was ready. Even if you arrive early and your room is not ready, you can leave your luggage at the reception and explore the area while waiting to check in. Two coconuts were waiting for us in the room with a little welcome message written on a leaf which I found very cute. Bicycles are available for guests to use to explore the area, and the staff can provide you with a map so you don't get lost. The rooms are really unique and great, I especially loved the "outdoor" shower. One thing to keep in mind is that once the sun is down, there isn't much to do in the evening. We were at the Tree House at 8pm with nothing to do (but it was a Sunday in March so maybe that's why). You can try to go out towards the main streets but there are very little street lights so it makes it very dangerous to cycle at this time and all the shops are closed. If you want to have dinner at the Tree House you have to order food before 6pm and they will have it ready for when you want to have dinner. We didn't pre-order the dinner so we ended up eating at a small family-owned restaurant right next to the House which served very good spicy thai dishes. Mosquitoes will also devour you so make sure you have tons of repellant if you are out. On the day you leave, the front desk can pre-arrange the boat ride back to shore and a taxi waiting at the pier to drive you to the airport. It costs 350 baht and the Tree House pays the boat ride for you. Very convenient service. Over all it was a great experience and definitely different than anything I have tried before.

BANGKOK AND PHUKET, THAILAND:: SAIGON/HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM:: CAPE ANN, MASSACHUSETTS USA. Expanding our hosting experiences to new places!
I love working with travellers and residence owners to create a wonderful experience for everyone. I've been doing hosting and managing properties since 2013, across the world. There are such great discoveries to make in each place.

With my teams on the ground in Bangkok, Phuket, Saigon and the North Shore of Boston, we will welcome you warmly and help you to know great places to eat and explore.

I worked in advertising and research for a long time in Asia and the US. I love being in a different culture and learning new ways of thinking. I speak Thai fluently and OK in Chinese.

I have two kids in college (please support me!) and spend most of the year in beautiful New England, near my wonderful parents who also help me take care of guests.
