Our authentic family house is located in a quite street in the centre of Loenen village. This street is famous because of its monuments. Our house was built around 1840 and recently renovated. Surrounded by nature and only 15 min. from Amsterdam.

The space

We live here for about 10 years and have renovated bit by bit every year. Our garden is situated along river De Vecht, so you rent a boat in the neighborhood and navigate to Loosdrecht, Amsterdam etc. You have benefits like bakkery, supermarket and restaurants of the village and silence and beauty of nature in the backyard. Gooi and Vecht area is part of Uneco's World inheratage list and only 15 min by car or train from the old city center of Amsterdam. 5 minutes from a large sweet water lake watersports area Loosdrecht where you can swim, sail, etc Within 50 minutes by car from the Dutch beaches. Living space around 130 square metres with a private garden. Nice livingroom with view on the Vecht and fireplace. Kitchen with table that easily seats 6 people. Four bedrooms; masterbedroom (double bed) facing the river, large bedroom (with 2 beds 190 cm) and 2 smaller attic rooms for 1 person. Most amazing location with very easy access to Utrecht (if you have a car park and ride is THE way to go) and to Amsterdam. Stairs are traditional Dutch (steep). Looks out over a waterway which is always interesting. The village is just the most lovely place ever. Supermarket close by, fabulous restaurants. "In love with the whole situation"

Given my belief in the sharing economy, I am reluctantly writing this review. As you see from my review history, I have had only positive experiences and great hosts. My experience with this home was so far from the AirBnb description and reviews. I question the credibility of the Airbnb review system. The host family's in-laws were present at the house on time, providing an easy check-in process. I am familiar with the lovely town of Loenen and the house is situated in town and along De Vecht river. It is opposite a superb restaurant. The host was quick to respond to questions even though she was on vacation herself. However, the pictures do not convey the following: there was a strong scent sprayed in the kitchen area that never left the house even with the doors open. Even though the (nice and easygoing) cat was hardly indoors, there was cat hair everywhere and the cat peed on the carpet once and one time on the bed sheets. The chair and sofa in the living area was damp and the garden furniture dirty. It was dusty everywhere. The kitchen and bathroom are not only dated — amenities are non-existent, poor or dirty. The kitchen are cabinets sticky. The fridge is dirty inside. The wifi was not reliable (we had meetings scheduled over (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) which dropped continuously). The worst was that my nine-year old did not need his inhaler for 6-plus months, but needed it here several times. My older could not stop sneezing and had to take allergy medicine. Upon mentioning this to the host, she directed us to the nearest pharmacy/doctor’s office. Again, we wish the host no ill will. I am a Dutch native and have owned 1920s homes in the area. After this Airbnb experience we went back booking a hotel because we could not deal with another experience like this one.

Wonderful house in a stunning location. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We were lucky with the weather and so had a nice barbecue in the garden accompanied by plunges in the river and boat rides. I sincerely think that it would be difficult to find a better place to spend a few days (or a lot). Obrigado Sascha.

We have been at Sascha's home for 5 days with 4 children. Contacts worked perfectly and we have been very well welcome. The house is really beautiful, with a spectacular view on the river, spacious and furnished with good taste, also equipped for some cooking Loenen is a lovely village with fantastic historical villas on the Vecht river . By car you can easily and quickly reach Amsterdam and the rest of Holland. We did not try the public transportation. I would strongly reccomend Sascha's house, also for a family. I just have to mention that, in case of very small children or people with limited ability, the nice but steep stairs (typical of old Dutch houses) should be considered. Anyway a safety gate is placed at the top to prevent untended access .

We spent a weekend at Sascha's place and had an excellent time. Sascha and her husband were very hospitable and easy to communicate with. Their house is beautiful, has lots of character and the garden is just the perfect place to chill out in the sun. Thanks Sascha!

Wonderful stay in this lovely and cosy house located in a very nice "postcard village". How charming it is to have an aperitif in the yard looking for the boats on the river. Very easy to go to Amsterdam and Utrecht by train (25 mn from each). However, the automat in Breukelen railway station does not accept Mastercard ... Finally, last but not least : Sascha is a very attentive and smilling host. We will come back ! Bernard.

We enjoyed our stay both in the house and in the area. The house is basic but comfortable and easy to land in and take off from without fuss. The beds were comfortable, shower great and garden relaxing. We arrived with hand luggage only and three children (5,7&13) and were able to stay comfortably and shop locally with ease. Just the easy holiday we had in mind. Thank you Sascha and family!
